Don't personally own one, but I'll give my observations on my neighbor's 2006:

TPMS sensor was first thing to go.
Crankshaft sensor was next (stranded in town)..
Fuel level stopped registering correctly.
Trans shift linkage broke (stranded out of town).
Heat stopped working.
CD player stopped working.
Paint (Silver) still looks good from afar, but developed serious rust issues @ about 5 years old on top of the front fenders under the hood, roof rain channels are horrendous.
Door handles are at least a double-pull to open.
"Rides like a cane truck!" (his quote). If you know, you know.
Fuel filler door wouldn't stay closed due to clamp popping outta place (YouTube zip-tie trick worked!).
Find random bolts from it on ground underneath that neither of us can figure out where they've come out of.
Currently dealing with SES lights, misfires, and loud roaring from front pass. side that settles down around 45 mph and picks back up around 55 mph.
How many miles on the truck? I have a 06 with over 212,000 miles on it with the original crank sensor. If it has misfires and he continues driving it he will have much bigger problems when he has to replace cat converters. My truck has had minimal problems in the 15 plus years I have owned it. I got a good one.

About 95,000. I'm afraid the "cats" may already be shot, just hasn't been discovered yet...

A problem I had was truck would crank, but couldn't get spark. The code was for a crankshaft position sensor. I replaced that and my problem persisted. I ultimately replaced the distributor with a new one and it fixed my problem.
You must have a early model Frontier.

It's a little late to tell you now, but on VG33E engines, the crank position sensor at the top of the transmission bellhousing is only a monitoring sensor and will not cause a drivability nor "no spark" condition, however, a faulty distributor can be the cause of a "no spark" condition and/or the triggering of a crank position sensor.

Squeal or a squeak?

New 2023 Pro-4X…first wash. I noticed this the day after I bought it but thought it was just dirt.
First wash today didn’t clean it off. Windex didn’t clean it off. What’s my next move? Anyone else have this on their new Frontier?

Bad dealer prep. Let them clean it. Or try a 3M automotive adhesive remover or glass clay even some decent glass cleaners

You posted this twice so I will ask again. When you run your fingernail over this, does it feel hard like paint? And, is it on the inside or outside of the glass?

This thread is for listing common problems Frontiers experience and their solutions. I will try to update this post to list the problems and link to the solution post or thread. This thread is not for chit-chat or rare problems. This is for common problems and their solutions. Thanks.

2024 Adaptive Cruise Control Issue:
20240510_FrontCamera.MP4
Check out the video at about 3 minutes in. The semi I am passing strays off onto the right shoulder then over-corrects into my lane. I had to take the shoulder and at about that time the adaptive cruise control decided now would be a good time to apply the brakes (While I was trying to accelerate into the clear.)
That resulted in the truck starting to fishtail. I could feel the brakes alternating from the left side to the right with no end in sight. I finally got it off onto the shoulder and stopped.

Glad that you were able to recover. Very nice camera and great music.

Not seeing what you would do differently as it isn't a self driving system. Even if it was, the decision to accelerate to avoid a collision wouldn't be default.
I've accelerated out of collisions multiple times. Its the result of 41 yrs of driving experience and over 760k miles covered. You go by gut instinct and it's usually right, something an AI will never have.

Yeah that was scary. This truck is the first vehicle I ever owned that has Adaptive Cruise Control and I never use it. I always hold the button and switch to normal Cruise Control. I just don't trust vehicles braking for me.

cannot figure out this squeaking from front passenger tire. over every bump, or when i shake or stand on truck and shake. NOT THE HOOD LATCH. please help

Stabilizer bar still installed, or Titan swap and no bar? The end links can get noisy, mine were making raucous banging on any tiny little bump after lifting, the ball joint angles on the end links were hyperextended and killed them quickly.

stabilizer bar. also! it seems temperature effects the noise too. when HOT it’s very loud and cooler/normal days and rain there is no noise
