Everything has seemed to be identical until now, however I've run up on my first issue. The main harness is different. I guess the solution would be to use the old harness. Do you see any issues with me doing this. Plugs on the engine side appear to be the same

You don't say the harnesses are different, so it's difficult for me to answer your question. If the engine harness/connectors on your 2005's original harness will work, I would use them.

I'm about to begin an engine replacement on my 2005 NISMO 4x4 with a low mileage 2015 VQ40DE and you were recommended as someone who is knowledgeable. I've read some conflicting info on intakes, crank position sensors, etc. Has anyone completed this swap yet that can confirm what sensors need to be swapped from the old engine to the new?

Will it be obvious based on plug type, etc? I'm pretty good at working through problems on my own, but if there are any worry areas where my ignorance could cause computer or sensor damage I'd love for someone to lead me to the light here. Thanks in advance

For example, I'm told 2005s have real oil pressure gauges with accurate readings. How will my truck react to a 2015 pressure sending unit? Should I swap in the old one? Sorry to bombard you, I just like to soak up as much wisdom and personal experience as I can before embarking on a project like this.

They really didn't change anything. You will need to replace the oil pressure switch on the 2015 with the oil pressure sending unit from the 2005. They used the same cam and crank position sensors and crank pulley. I don't believe they changed anything else, but I would just give it a once over to make sure everything in the intake side is the same.

Have a question and you seem knowledgeable. Reading the top of the piston. I get a n slf 3. Slf I assume is for ring style. Is 3 the piston grade or will I need to measure to be certain
