Well, since the powers at be merged like three threads together, I should rewrite this part. List your favorite mods that you’ve done! Maybe show your favorite inexpensive mod, list them all, this is the place!
Did the idle bump to my truck using the CVTz50 app, thanks to a few FB buddies for finding this hack and confirming that I would want it on a manual transmission. I thought I would probably want to but wasn't sure. I ended up bumping the idle from the base target rpm of 625, using the +175 to...

Easily the best low buck mod I've done. Cost me $30.

Love these mirrors! I wasn't sure about them but hated the small factory mirrors so I gave them a try. Ironically, I'll never look back 🤣
I'd probably have to say the idle bump/timing advance as well, especially because I can't really think of anything else I've done that costs less than that price point.
Sylvania Silverstar headlight bulbs. Didn’t want to do LEDS, but wanted something brighter with more reach down the road and on the sides. These were perfect, 1.5 years later and every time I drive at night I still think to myself how glad I am I swapped them😂
Good choice. Everybody goes on about how good LED's are, but mine have failing fans and I've had people complain that I'm blinding them when I'm behind them, so I'll be going back to Halogens soon.
Reflector housings aren't meant for LED's period. Putting them in contributes to the ever increasing trend of people putting blinding light accessories on their vehicles. I see Heeps driving around with light bars on, and I wanna punch 'em. Same goes for Carolina squatted trucks with their headlights aimed into the sky. Inconsiderate.
Not sure if this thread is for engine “mods” only but I’ve been extremely happy with my ORG hood struts and hikeit x9 throttle controller. I think throttle controller cost me just a hair over $100 when they were running a holiday sale.
I did this too! With black fleece so my dog wouldn't destroy it. When she's less bouncy I'm getting it and my door panels padded and upholstered with matching fabric
I'd have to say for me it was the auto dimming homelink mirror with temperature and my stubby antenna. Since I got the mirror at a salvage yard, both together were less than $50.
Ceramic tint stripe across the top of the windshield = wonderful mod!
Weird mod, but worth it = Bully Hitchstep in trailer hitch receiver. There are now 2 lil scuffs/dents in it that I'm betting were from some idiots who backed into the rear of my truck. I'd rather have these small scuffs/dents there than have a dented rear (chrome) bumper.
LED headlights,
Gas strut hood (so worth it, makes opening the hood one handed super awesome, and for us with winches in sticky situations its so worth it)
How about a list of a bunch of useful mods for under $300 total?
A lot of my list is DIY, but that's how you get multiple mods for less, as opposed to buying premade kits that are overpriced. But I think everything on this list can be done by any Frontier owner, none of it is "application or hobby-specific"... let's call this the "Raine's $300 New D40 Owner Combo" Haha
Just got the truck a month ago, so swapping the stock shift knob (ew) for a nice Z1 one and a drop in AEM dry flow filter. Didn’t want to have to deal with oil with a K&N.
