Has anyone heard of or used this company yet?
There was some discussion on the frontier Facebook group that they might be affiliated with TAG/KMA/whatever else they went by.

Their bumpers seem to look good and have good pricing.

i had one of their rear bumpers a long time ago before they fully started stealing money from people and it took forever and the quality was pretty ****.

they look neat in the pictures, but not worth it imo

I am normally not THAT GUY but the subject of KMA/TAG/WAM has been discussed many times here. If you do a search you will find a lot of threads on this subject.

IMHO, if price is more important than design, fit, finish, quality and customer service then go for it! I'm sure it will work out for you......

In short, WAM is the SAME Co. in the SAME building at the SAME address and seems to change it's name every so often. Why would they do that? I don't know for sure but getting away from the bad press on the previous iteration of the Co. is likely.

Good Luck!

Brian I apologize, but when searched this was the only post I found via Tapatalk.

There have been multiple people saying that they are new owners and new employees.

Just wondering if this is a viable option for everyone.

I have contacted shrockworks when they did my front bumper about doing a swing out and they told me they wouldn't do it.

I looked at their Facebook page a couple weeks ago. One of the first posts stated that they were a new company with a new owner. The products they are making look (at least from the pictures I've seen) a hell of a lot better than TAG. Not sure if I'd throw money at them this early in their existence till I've talked to someone who bought their products. BCBrian does have a point though.

I dealt with tag firsthand before buying my shrockworks bumper, never had any issues, but after reading the reviews I was steered away.

I was just hoping someone with more knowledge of the original company could shed some light on WAM to vet them.

Do I need a tire carrier, not really haha. I've just been jealous of the versatility of my friends taco, that has a fancy pelfreybilt with swing out.

So, is their tooling such that they can only cut 3 letters into the bumpers? They would have had a better chance of not being said to just being TAG re-branded if they had come up with a company name that wasn't reduced to a 3 letter anagram.

Update: WAM! has been very responsive. TAG went out of business so Graham Spray Design bought their design. They have been very open to tweaking the design for better approach angles; I'm officially the guinea pig. Fortunately, they are only 45 minutes from me.

As an owner of a Craigslist find TAG bumper, I don't really understand all the hate. They cost about half as much as shrockworks so obviously it's not going to be at the same level of quality. Nor do they look as good. Speaking as a certified welder, some of the beads are not pretty..... but they are structurally sound and not in a place anyone would see them. They're much more function over form.

I may be biased though, seeing as I got mine for less than half price and all it needed was a few coats of bedliner. It also saved my truck when I hit a deer at 75 mph and the only damage was a cracked headlight and a dent in the door.

Placed my order on January 12, picked up the bumper February 2. It took about 1 hour to install.

Looks good!

I've been meaning to call my son-in-law and get him to drive over there
and give them some crap... he likes messing with people... and given they're reputation
...`and see how they react.

I'll be up there in a couple weeks for my daughters birthday. If I like what I see I'll
go ahead and order a front bumper.
I really don't like the attitude of companies like Shrockworks. etc... "We'll make your
bumper when we get around to it... We're elitist Americans and we don't do overtime...
you can just wait until we get to you... stand in line *****es!

I don't really like the "Bull bar" thing, but the rest looks pretty solid... looks like
there's a winch slot there.

Gotta call the him and get him to see what their attitude is.

Shrockworks elitist? It took two months to get my bumper, nothing but a great experience otherwise, had great customer service and a great product.
Lead times are to be expected with popular companies.

That being said, I like the pricing of wam, but until they have more than a year of positive reviews they won't get my business. It's going to take time for people to get over the other companies that were affiliated with them.

I liked the pricing of the WAM bumpers as well until I started adding all the little things on to make it comparable to the Shrock bumper and it was only 100-200 dollars less. I'd rather spend a little bit more for the reputable company.

I contacted wam last night not expecting to hear back at around 7pm mountain time. Timmy surprise I received messages back all night long! Pretty amazing

For my build, just needed simple winch bumper with holes for factory fogs and maybe a small hoop for a light bar down the road (live on a dark country highway with lots of deer/elk on my way to work year round). Bedlined and set up the way I want is 895ish before shipping.

Price is good, lead time is AMAZING at 3-4 weeks. However, shipping and lack of an included rad skis put me well up over hefty fab, plus I have to install myself. I really wanted to try them out but being in Colorado I believe I I'll go the Hefty route.

I do want to say that they seem very professional, replied quickly and quality looks too notch. I will also say I think these are the best looking bumpers out there! I like the simplicity and design. Maybe you east coast guys should get ahold of them!

I've been in contact with them for the last month or so about two projects for our trucks. I picked up an older item from them that they had laying around, and it was fast and simple.
I've been talking with their design consultant and he is excited to work on the two items I've requested to be made for our trucks. One item will be be for people that don't want to spend a lot of money on a full sized winch bumper, and the other item is a normal item that hopefully can be made to compete with other companies.

Once I get I get the build list back from them and a rough quote on the final products, I'll be taking my truck there to get measured for their production runs and fitted after that to make sure everything works and fits like it should.

Also: I've been talking with someone that had the first XD winch bumper installed on his truck by them. Seeing it with my own eyes the bumper is solid, very solid. The welds looked great, the attention to detail is good and the options they have are good too. So far I've been impressed with their quick responses not only on the phone, but email and text messaging as well.

I'm glad to see that these people are rectifying the TAG issues.

My son-in-law (native Georgian) is a die hard Ford owner. I've almost
got him wanting to buy a Nissan, every time I go up there he finds an
excuse to drive my truck. I asked him to go talk to them and discuss
building me a bumper. If I can get him involved in my quest to
customize my truck he's sure to be hooked. lol

Well I hit a deer this morning on my way to work. Got the front bumper, right fender, headlight assembly on passenger side and passenger fog light. Nothing too serious as far as radiator or structural.

Going back and forth between aluminum hefty (comes with rad skid, lead time is awful!) and WAM (price is the same, lead time is about a month though!).

Waiting to hear estimate from insurance company to see what I do. With 600lb springs on my rad 2.0s would I be ok with a steel bumper and eventual winch?

A little more history on this company, they were originally called Kennesaw Mountain Products, after "going out of business", they renamed it TAG Tactical Armor Group, now WAM (WAM BAM THANK YOU MAM??).

They were originally one of the only companies that made these bumpers for the Dodge Dakota in the early to mid 2000's, on the Dakota forum's I know several guys who ordered and either never received or received after 8 or 9 months, a bumper that had to be repaired before it could be installed, if it could be installed.

No history lesson is required. New company that bought the old designs. The work is a lot better.
