It is nice that the rear bar is back far enough to do this without damaging the cab of the truck. Even with a CCLB I have found myself doing that with longer pieces.

Ha! if I had more than a short drive I wouldn't have done it, and if I had a overhead bed rack I would have used it. But with how I had it strapped down, nothing even wiggled.



I might have to get one of those if I ever start carrying more lumber. that looks like a nice product!

 

Too dangerous to drive like that, I'd pay for delivery or rent a truck. Hit a low hanging anything (wire,tree, sign,etc) and tell me how it ended up.

I'm not even sure I would try to carry all that in my Frontier in one trip.

 

I cringe whenever I see a truck carrying a long load like that.

 

To be perfectly honest, me too. If I didn't live less than 1/2 mile from Lowes I would have figured something else out. I thought it funny enough to share though.

No offense: but you people with tiny truck beds didn't have your arms twisted when you bought the trucks, did you?

And if you bought shortie bed, four door trucks because you actually used it to transport your family, are you aware that places like Home Depot deliver, and also rent out trucks for very reasonable rates.

There's a reason my 1988 B2200, '98 Frontier, and 2004 Frontier are full 6-foot bed lengths.

Yes, I've seen folks load up passenger cars, even small ones like in the posted photos, instead of arranging for delivery or renting a truck. There's a reason for that: they're #%^*^$#%&(%# idiots !!!

 

Working in lumber at lowes was probably the most interesting thing ever. Saw lots of poor loading choices.
