So, honestly, I’m still not sure... it tells you it comes either way but there’s no way (that I saw) to make that choice. My suggestion is to call (which I didn’t do) because if by “extension” they mean mimicking the stock bumper infrastructure then I very much wish I would’ve got’em...

I definitely saw the option to add them when I was looking at the purchase menu. They are an extra $20.
I'll give them a call tomorrow to see what they have to say. I'll follow up here.

Well, I ain’t gonna lie, it’s highly likely I missed it...

If you look at the first post from OP you'll see what the carrier looks like without the crash bars (second image).

@Bergy on the wam website you had two options when going through their ordering flow: order the standard carrier with no add-ons or picking add-ons. I believe the first option just takes you the checkout while the second lets you select body lift, crash bars, etc.

Here is what it looks like with:

Yeah I figured it out; I have the chrome bumper and the extensions are NOT a choice when ordering online...

I did not include the crash bar extensions on mine. I didn’t want the extra weight up there, lowering my front end at all. I’m not too worried about crashes. Perhaps I’m just naive, but it’s not my daily driver either.

I have them on mine. it does add a bit more metal out on the ends that may or may not help in a crash.

With that said, I think WAM could have placed them a little differently, they kind of get in the way a little with the mounting bolts. Not a big deal, just a slight inconvenience.

It was a bit of a pain to install because of the cutting and such but all in it cost $505 for the winch carrier and the radiator skid including shipping. I also cut the corners off the stock chrome bumper for more clearance. I may cut it more if I can find a suitable fog light mounting solution. Looks like it was meant for the truck. Can't wait for mine to come in. Hopefully looks as good with a painted bumper. Will it fit a badlands 12,000 lb

I was looking at adding some round KC lights to my Wam. I'm worried about the lights being in the way and not being able to reach the lever to freespool. How's yours as far as room?
I've got enough room to free spool. It's tight, but it can easily be done, especially once you get the hang of where you need to shove your hand.

I originally got the KC gravity pro 6’s to put on but I would’ve had to cut holes in the bumper, so I got little 2x2 LEDs from Rough Country (w/ the amber DRLs) and they work great. They’re not in the way at all.

Thank you.

Hmmm. That's the light I was going to go with. Thanks for the heads up.

Maybe I'll try the Slimlites or go with something smaller like the 2x2's.

Thanks for sharing these. I have a white rig too. This is great way f
New member here - I just finished the installation of a WAM "customize wincher" carrier and Apex Badlands 12K on my truck and boy am I thrilled! The effort of relocating the control box was a bit of a pain, but well worth it so far! View attachment 325066 View attachment 325067
It doesn't look like it but did you upgrade your shocks/coils at all? Wondering because I'm looking at getting this but don't have enough for both at the moment and want to know if I should pull the trigger or keep saving.

hi WTF,
I’m not sure what your first comment was, it seems to have been cut short. When I added my WAM carrier, I had a 2” rear shackle and rubber puck front shock spacer, so it was a bit higher than the stock Bilsteins offer alone, but I don’t believe this cheap spacer method was necessary at all in order to accommodate the carrier.
I have subsequently put on 5160’s and 6112’s to do it the right way for my own budget, but I’d say go for it one at a time. No reason to wait and save further in order to afford it all at once, from my stance.

Installed mine with no lift whatsoever. I do have the Hefty Fabworks aluminum rad skid painted and ready for install. I also have the Rough Country 3” lift (new shocks and springs up front and a shackle lift in the rear) sitting in the box ready to install. I’m a bit behind on my installs…
