So I towed an empty 5x10 ft cargo trailer tonight and it left me very very disappointed at my truck.
I was towing it on the highway at 60-65 mph. The truck was hunting for gears, and getting bogged down. We're talking about an empty aluminum trailer weighing 700 pounds. Shouldn't even feel it behind the truck. Accelerating any faster (say 70 mph) the truck holds 3rd gear at 4k RPM and will not shift down.
It also cut my mileage in half. I was getting 8-9MPG. It's an empty freaking trailer. WTF!
I have a 2012 Crew Cab PRO-4X. The only "performance" mod I have is a K&N intake.
Any ideas guys?
