The cc lb looks so much better with a small lift- that would be the first thing I’d do if I had one. But my cc sb is functional enough- got a bed hitch bed extender from harbor freight (50$). Turns it into a 9’ bed in seconds. The extender is 3’ from tailgate when it’s down.

Overall the Frontier is a great truck and there are both versions to fit our needs.

The turning radius of my CC/LB has never bothered me, I plan ahead and drive accordingly.

But, why do you say strange looking? As I said before, the CC/LB looks proper and balanced, architecturally speaking. The CC/SB is out of balance to my eye, more like a mid-sized SUV that had its roof removed. Like that hybrid Ford Ranger-Explorer thing they had out for a few years (not to that extreme, though), which provided what, about a 40" or so "cargo box"? Ish.

My philosophy with my Frontier purchase was to buy all the basic utility it could provide, and that meant 4wd, 4 real doors and seats, and all the bed length they made. Anything less, for me, was a sacrifice. And undoubtedly, it looks the best. ;)
I dunno, I just think it looks a little awkward is all, and yes, planning is required 100%

Hi, newbie here. I'm currently shopping around for a 2020 Pro4x Crew cab, but found a brand new 2019 King cab that I should be able to get for a steal.

I like the longer bed that comes with the King cab, but I'm concerned that the rear jump seats may be too small for my occasional needs.

I don't normally use the back seats in my current car (Subaru Outback) as it is not our primary family vehicle, but it is nice to have the option of a back seat for when I have one or two of my kids in tow.

I never have adults riding with me, but I do have a teenage girls and a couple 5 yr. olds.

For those of you with the King cab, have you found it adequate/comfortable to have smaller children and/or teenagers ride in the jump seats?

Thanks!
Go to a Nissan dealership, try sitting in the KC jump seats yourself.
Then proceed and buy a Crew Cab.

From what you originally said, you're shopping around for a 2020 Pro-4x Crew Cab.

... but then you're only considering an older 2019 model KC P4x because you can "get one for a steal" - not because it's necessarily the same vehicle you were shopping for.
So ask yourself if you really want a "2020 Pro4x Crew Cab" specifically, or if you're just second guessing yourself because you see a lower number on a price tag.

I agree with @raine 110%. If the KC and CC were the same price, which one would you go for? If you're only shopping for price and willing to compromise, it shouldn't be a question, get what you can afford and live with the compromises. If you want a CC, get the CC. Otherwise if you get the KC, you might be shopping for a CC in a few months.

If you're like me, you won't be considering the "deal" you got when you inconvenience yourself by having the KC. Instead you'll probably be thinking about how you coulda/shoulda/woulda gotten the CC.

As for the CCLB folks, I'd struggle to consider purchasing one. Maybe if it was really cheap. But a basic full-size late-model pickup is maybe a foot longer, has a way more roomier cab, seats, and deeper bed, and turns tighter.

But it won’t be a Nissan that their actually interested in.

Since the 2020 models have some major new features (and are touted by dealers as being "all-new"), there aren't going to be any great deals on them for a while.

Since you're willing to live with a 2019 model instead, you might consider looking for slightly used late-model crew cabs. There's a lot of them around, and their asking prices will be declining due to the introduction of the 2020's.

If you're dead-set on a Frontier, then I suppose that's why they offer the option. I have a thing for Fords, but otherwise lack brand loyalty. That's why I'm here!

Modern full size pickups are still a heck of a lot bigger than a cc long wheel base frontier. It’s still a mid size truck. Nissan shoulda just offered a 68” long bed with the crew cab and called it day.
A CCLB Frontier is 219.4" Over-All Length versus a SuperCrew 5.5' bed F-150 at 231.9" OAL, a difference of 12.5". Granted the Frontier has a narrower body width and shorter doors, so it'll be easier to get in and out in tight spaces. It also comes ahead on price. All depends on what a person's individual needs and wants are.

The CC is 5 passengers, the KC is 4. Personally my needs are a weekend work truck, daily commuter, with space for the three remaining kids at home some times.
My 9 and 12 yr olds both love riding in the jump seats around town, but this obviously isn't meant for long trips.
It really comes down to what you need, I don't need another car.
If you are in the car seat or booster seat phase, get a crew cab, the KC is for a second or third vehicle, rarely used by more than 2 people

+ another one for Crew Cab Short Bed. Fairly easy to park and not the most horrible turning radius, though it wins no awards.
We looked at a king cab then brought the family in to check it out , My two sons 12 and 14 years old could not fit in the back seat. It would of held my rifle only (LOL) . So I bought the crew cab , a great vehicle .

my father used to drive a 2006 frontier king cab which is the same as the 2019 models. we used to find the back seats very uncomfortable tho as they are so low and try squish your legs between you and the front seats. although like you said, i also prefer the look and utility of a longer 6 foot bed of the king cabs. i drive a 2001 king cab because i’d prefer the utility of a longer bed than a bigger cabin.

the cabin of the king cab tho has good utility for storing luggage and groceries if needed. but when you also need to haul something big, the longer bed of the king cab will come in handy compared to a small short bed. but to be honest the king cab is a 2 seater only truck but the rear jump seats work for quick drives ( no longer than 30 min) but i have personally lasted longer than 2 hours and back home another 2 hours in my father king cab frontier back seats and im 5’6. i would never do it ever again tho. too uncomfortable.

And a full size CC truck won't fit in my garage. It did 15 years ago ('04 Silverado CC, 6' box), but it would not today with my other storage requirements.
