We got some goodies in the mail and thought I would share.

I got my custom plate in for my S model. I am a HUGE supporter of public servants, and a plus was the plate pretty much will match my color scheme, so here is my plate.
Image

On the wife's SV she wants to do a soft pink theme. I gave her full permission to do whatever she wants to make the truck hers. She wanted this faith, love, hope decal. We have ordered the Frontier decals for tail gate and grille the same color to.

Here are some of the first performance mods we did to our trucks. I will post a thread in the GEN3 performance section for a comparison between the two with a review of full air intake verse air filter&throttle body spacer. Before I get into it I am aware of the discussions on the TBS, I added it mainly for when I run intake cleaner through the intake to help atomize the cleaner better to help remove intake deposits.

S Model with full AFE air intake. Part# 50-70077R. It has the oiled filter.

Here is SV model with AFE TBS and K&N air Filter. TBS part# 46-36011B and K&N part# 33-5116.

Here is my review of both.

Pivot Spark S ignition booster
What is that?

I looked it up, still can't wrap my head around its benefits. Curious to hear your review of it

It is pretty much some capacitors that are wired to the ignition fuse under the hood to stabilize the ignition voltage.

I got them for $50 each on ebay and they are genuine and not knock offs.

They did not provide any performance increase, but they did improve the idle a little bit. Honestly that is about all it did for us. MPG did improve .5 at best and to me could be the temp increases or a number of other things.

I will take pics when I have more time. They pretty much stabilize voltage right at 14 volts when I measured with my volt meter. When I would turn on all the lights, turn radio up, and AC full blast, voltage would drop to 12 or 13 volts, with the Pivot Spark S voltage stayed a constant 14 volts instead of dropping.

I assume stock coils are around 35K volts or so(I have not looked it up yet), so a 2 volt drop on the primary side of the coil could be quite a few thousand volts drop on secondary side of the coil.

I am an electrician in a copper mine and we deal with a lot of transformers, and this product caught my eye.

Honestly probably a little extreme for any performance gain, but helped with idle and engine revs a little quicker.

I will accept as far as performance goes any snake oil comments, as nothing was really gained, but truck does run slightly more smooth.

We put some decals on our trucks today.

Red S-

American flag vinyl raised letters in the grille. I wanted a little more color besides black/red. What is weird is the graphics package included black letters in tailgate, but nothing in front grille. I am guessing because the grille is black already?

White SV-

The wife wanted soft pink in hers, so we did the tailgate and grille. I was honestly shocked how well it came out.

The fabric is different, The S is a soft cloth which seems more porous, where the SV seems much more durable and thicker better material.

Comfort wise they are very close, but we do prefer the seats in the SV model. They are more supportive to us especially on longer trips.

If I had little ones or seats seen a lot of use, I can see the SV model doing much better and being more durable.

I will try to take a few pics later on

We finally got around to making our exhaust videos.

2022 S-

Here is a link to pics in the exhaust section.

Some YouTube videos

I went with 2 1/4 piping from secondary cats to a FM 50 series muffler and 3 inch out to a 4 inch stainless tip. Piping and install was $600, muffler $150, and stainless tip $60.

Very happy with sound and performance. I had the AFE intake when I installed the exhaust. Seemed to balance out the power curve from the intake. I hear more the exhaust till 2500 RPM then I hear more the intake.

No dyno and this is just must honest and fair feedback. Seems balanced with no dead spots through the entire rev range. I consistently get over 22 MPG in city or the highway, not bad for a 4X4. I don't think I loss any low end torque due to upsizing the exhaust pipe. Also no drone.

Good balance on sound, not obnoxious.

2022 SV-

On the wife's she wanted it quite, so we left everything stock and just swapped out for a magnaflow muffler.

$129 for the muffler $150 for install. Stock size is 2 inch into the muffler and 2.5 inch out to back.

Slightly increase in sound where you can at best here a slight tone. No drone, revs slightly quicker. Also have to note had KN filter and AFE TBS installed before the exhaust was done. average a little over 23 MPG, but wife idles a LOT. Not a big change, boss lady is happy with it.

Overall Thoughts-

It really depends on what one like sound wise. No huge performance gains, but it was a good differance on the S model with a full intake and exhaust. To me it was worth the money. More sound over a muffler and I like how the truck performs.

With the SV we get a little more out of it, but the SV is a little more smooth than my S model and still nice and quite.

The magnaflow full exhaust I believe is dual 2.5 inch to a single 3 inch out. I do think 2 1/4 is a better option to not lose any torque.

Honestly if someone is looking for more sound I would just cut out the muffler and swap it out, upgrade to 3 inch to a nice tip. The 2 smaller mufflers between the cats and muffler are worth keeping if anyone is worried about drone.

I have not posted anything in a while.

I added some more stickers to my S model. It is raining or I would post some pics. I did order a
PRO-4S decal I can't wait to put on the truck. I also ordered a PRO-SV decal for the wife's truck.

We did picked up a set of SV wheels I was going to paint and put on my S, but wife decided she wanted a "cool" set of wheels, so we painted them for her truck, then I will take hers and paint them for mine.

We put on the SV wheels we painted today. We are very happy with them. There are some imperfections when looking real close, but no one can tell but us.

We got the wheels and tires cheap so it was worth it. The hardest part is the prep work to scuff them up properly to get the paint to stick. I painted them when it was raining and humid out which should not be done, but it was the only time I could do it.

Definitely recommend a spray paint with primer built in made for metal like the Rustoleum 2X or Krylon makes one to.

I finally got a chance to put on my SV wheels I painted for my truck. I used Rustoleum Universal metalic oil rubbed bronze which is a grey metallic.

The spray paint sprayer was hard to use, Idid 2 light coats and 2 heavier coats.

Then I used Rustoleum Universal Pearl Clear coat over the paint 3 coats.

I let them sit for 3 days then ceramic coated them.

I am really happy how they came out, but can tell anyone looking to paint wheels it is a LOT of work. The main work is sanding the clear coating off the wheels to get the paint to stick properly. I used 320 grit dry sandpaper. A lot if little crevices to try and get to.

Surprisingly the SV wheels are 9 LBS lighter and due to tires. I feel the suspension slightly more now probably due to the 65 tires vs S 70's.

The cloth seat fabric is definitely not as plush feeling on the 2022 S model as compared to the SV. To me, the biggest seat comfort difference between the S and SV is the fact a power seat equipped SV has more driver's seat adjustability.
