got my waterport weekender mounted on my roof rack setup for the upcoming camping/overlanding season. Waiting for the Koni 82 kit to come, in the mean time bought an arb rear diff cover and needed materials for it (had slow leak from scraping a rock or something). Positive about the Koni kit being on backorder is, I was able to buy all needed tools for the job that I didn't have and gave me some extra time to clean out the garage at the new house I'm renting.

Installed a prinsu roof rack and a rc 40 inch black edition light bar.

We’ll call the roof rack install a pleasant pain in the ***. Time consuming and scary as all hell drilling into a new vehicle, but the video install guide provided by cbi/prinsu makes it as smooth as possible.

Went with the cutout windscreen and with the included RC light Mount it sits pretty snug in there. A little too snug though, likely going to order the prinsu light bar mount or fab something myself for it so I can get a little more clearance for tilting.

Roof rack looks great! How long did it take to install? What kind of sealant did you use for the holes drilled?

I actually like the way your light bar sits. It’ll help with not getting the light bleeding into your windshield. When I had a 40”roof light bar, I would hate that it would hit my window and cause some glare. Then in dusty situations, it was even worse. I’d leave it how it is if I were you, just from my past experiences.

Other than that, enjoy the new rack!

Thanks! Install took about 4 hours from start to finish, most of the time fighting my poor choices in drill bits and an underpowered drill, so I assume a lot of that time could be cut out with the proper tools. This is the sealant I used, https://a.co/d/18FAPKC I let it cure for about 2 days in the garage before bringing it outside, the next day it rained and everything seems to be sealed well without any indication of leaks so I assume it did the job just fine.

Yeah I have heard of people getting reflections when it sits higher, I'll probably just do a few washers and a longer bolt to get a little bit of a gap and see what happens before pulling the trigger on the expensive prinsu brackets. Thanks for the heads up.

Got egged yesterday, so had to wash this off in 40mph winds after work. Frozen and dried egg is surprisingly resilient. Whoever did it got a bunch of vehicles in my neighborhood. Must be kids who don’t realize how expensive eggs are these days. :ROFLMAO:

My initial reaction as well. I was a little hot driving in to work yesterday, but just had to breathe and let it go.
Had it happen to me many years back. But the egg that hit my car made a "spider web" type pattern where it hit, breaking the paint. Had to get the piece repainted, which is why I was even more pissed. Didn't mind cleaning the stuff off, just the actual damage ✌

That really sucks. Luckily this didn’t seem to do any damage. Or at least the white hides it well enough I didn’t notice any.

Not my photo, but this is what a direct hit from an egg looks like. The shells make all those chips. If the egg skips at an angle, you most likely will not have this damage, maybe a scratch or two, but not as deep as this. FYI

Thankfully I don’t see any damage like that. I think it took a glancing blow across the hood.

Put tint film on the light sensor to make it a bit more sensitive and turn the lights on sooner. Also blacked out (sorta) the bumper reflectors with lamin-x precut film.
I'm aware you may have attempted this, but I've got to ask anyway; where the light sensitivity settings in the dash menu not cutting it for turning the headlights on on?

I have tried the settings as well...and the lights do not come on soon enough. I like the the tint idea (y)
I also like the Lamin-X pre-cut film too (y)
