Is Stillen the only company currently making a lightweight underdrive crank pulleys for the 4.0L?

I ordered one from Stillen and they're taking a long time to ship and not responding to me. Looking for other option in case I decide to cancel the order and go somewhere else. Any recommendations or should I just be patient?

There used to be another company called wrp that made them, I have one. Try searching and see if he's still selling

Stillen finally got back to me and they still make the UDP for the VQ40. They need to make more and it’s going to take 4 weeks. I have done some more digging and after reading this, The Danger of Power Pulleys & Understanding the Harmonic Damper, I have concerns about doing this mod. What do you guys think? Seems like this was a popular mod a years back but not talked about to much now.

If this involves removing the harmonic balancer - don’t do it. Just like a tire needs weights added to balance it, a crankshaft also needs weights to balance it. The harmonic balancer does this. If you remove it and replace it with a light- weight pulley, you risk rapid crankshaft bearing wear and noticeable engine vibration.

Thank you! I am not 100% sure but if the stock crank pulley is also a harmonic balancer then replacing it with a light weight crank pulley would remove the harmonic balancer. Can anyone confirm that by removing the stock crank pulley you are also removing the harmonic balancer?

Perfect.. thank you! I should have thought about looking up the part. That settles it in my mind that a light weight crank pulley is not a good idea. Going to move on to maybe B-Pipes or Maxbore as my next performance mod.

Just for information's sake the harmonic balancer has nothing to do with "balancing" the crankshaft as someone stated. It's function is to dampen the twisting forces on the crank. every time a cylinder fires that rod journal twists forward for a micro-second then snaps back. The heavy harmonic balancer absorbs these pulses and "dampens" them for longevity of your engines internals.

I had the Stillen stock sized aluminum pulley on my R51 and took it off. It appeared to me that they made the snout stock size and used a Redi-sleeve on it so the seal would have a good surface to ride on, rather than on the aluminum. This makes the pulley a real tight fit with the seal and the seal tends to leak after a short while...and then the pulley is real hard to slide off because of the tight fit. And, yes, I put wheel bearing grease on the seal before I installed the crank pulley.
