Yesterday I had a small problem with my truck..it would turn over but not start...I kept at it for less than a minute and it kicked over. Ran my errands never turning it off until I got home...several minutes later I tried it and it started fine.

This morning, I turn the key...It's cranking, but it will not turn over. It has been wet here, but not too cold, nothing lower than 43 F. Battery cables are clean and tight....Help!!!!!

Edit: I am thinking that the battery is not giving enough juice to actually turn the truck over.....reason is that while I am cranking it, the battery gauge keeps going lower and lower...no way to test amps in my driveway though.

Do you have a code yet? Two things come to mind first is the ipdm relays. Thats how mine was acting when they went out. theres 4 I think but I dont remember which one to switch out. Shoul be on here somewhere just do a search. The second is CPS I just had that last month and it was acting like that. Good luck whit this.

Do you hear the fuel pump running when in the acc position with the key?
I had this not long ago, cranked over fine but no start. I listened and didn't hear my pump. I also got no codes. Was about to get mine to the shop when I called my brother for his thoughts.
Kick your gas tank....
Yep kick it a few times, that was my brothers advice to me for the issue. Was pretty skeptical but did so and the I heard the pump and thing fired right up. No problems since.

Called this morning, not covered under recall...contacted Nissan North America spoke to a broken English speaking representative who refused to let me talk to anyone else...however was very adamant that it is not covered via my VIN #.

I also do not hear the fuel pump spin up when I put the key in the ACC position. Kicked the tank several times and it did nothing for me except hurt my toe. Is there a particular area to kick or bang on with a rubber mallet?

Not covered but you aren't sure it's the cause of your problem correct? That's putting the cart before the horse.

I am missing something, where in the posts did it say the idpm was your issue?

It did not, but...the dealer took it off my hands for a nice 2012. Guess that does not really resolve it but they knew about the issue beforehand and still gave me a great deal.

I found this thread doing a google search when my 2011 Frontier had the same issue as the OP. It would crank, but no start. I banged on the bottom of the fuel tank with a 2x4. It worked, the fuel pump activated. My question is; what went wrong and how do I fix the problem. I do not want this to happen again. Vehicle has been extremely reliable. I purchased it new, has about 60,000 miled on it.
