the light blinks fast because part of the load isn't there to properly heat the flasher element.
as far as why the front bulb isn't working.
best I can say is get a volt meter or indicator light and start chasing the wires until you find voltage.

 

thanks.. that is what i was afraid of.... i am ok with mechanical, fabrication, etc, but hate wiring. but i guess i will start this weekend. appreciate the help

 

take a close look at the bulb and socket to make sure they are making good contact. also, there should be a short ground wire to the body. make sure its not broken, damaged, and has a good connection to the body.

 

Here's all the help I can give you.... I'm breaking down the system where the front and rear split on the wiring diagram, and I'm assuming your right rear turn blinks when you kick on the hazard lights.

You're chasing a green and red wire between the turn signal switch and your turn signal, and it stays that color the entire time. The wire that runs to the front turn signal is spliced off- so you may want to check that connector. It'd be my first thought. My second thought is that it's more likely to be a bad ground- the way this diagram reads, there actually isn't any component truly in series with power after the front and rear disconnect. If you had a short on the power side, odds are good you wouldn't have power to either side.

I'd check the ground wire first.

 

Thanks so much guys. Before i started to try to chase wires. I took the bulb out and sanded down where the bulb meets the socket That must have been the problem, because after sanding it down a little to reveal the small wire you were talking about mathster, i put the bulb back in and it worked fine. thanks for the hintl. Also thanks for taking the time to go through the wiring for me, i know it took some time to write. so thanks for the help. guess now i can get that inspection sticker haha.

 

not a problem.
if you continue to have corrosion problems, get a tube of di-electric grease from your local parts store and put a bit in each socket and reinstall the bulb. this will keep air and moisture out of the socket and help prevent the corrosion.
