Replace hub bolts without removing wheel bearing assembly?

Long story short, I have to replace 3 of the 6 hub bolts on my front passenger wheel hub on my 08 SE 4x4.

Is there enough room to pop out the old hub bolts and replace with the new without removing the whole bearing assembly, or will that need to come off to give me proper clearance?

No problem. Just knock em out with a brass or ball peen hammer and pull the new ones back in using some big washers and an old lug nut. Make sure to put some anti seize on them first so you don't gall the threads.

Yup. You don't gain much, if anything, by removing it since it mounts outboard of the spindle. If I remember correctly there is a small notch in one area that gives a little extra clearance in case you need it to re-install the new ones.

Just an update for anyone else coming across this thread: Nomad is right - there is a notch that allows you to pull out the bolts without needing to remove the whole assembly.

You do have to remove the calipers and rotor to get to it, but it's not hard (only 4 bolts).

Dealership wanted $10 for 1 replacement bolt. I called Oreilly's who has them in stock and sells them for $2.50.

Don't forget a stack of washers to pull it into place.
