No, in 2001 the Frontier got a facelift. 01-04 Headlights will not work. You can do a custom upgrade on your headlights tho and covert them to projector style with HID's or LED's

2013-2019 Frontier and 2013-2015 Xterra on the door...but they were "with" and "without" holes for the body side mouldings.
If you have a plastic bumper cover, 2009-2019 Frontier.
If you have a chrome bumper, the lower part was 2005-2019 and the upper part is 2009-2019.

It is, but you'll need the 98's ECM and engine harness and will have to splice it into the Hardbody's main harness assembly. You'll also want to look to see if the 98 KA24DE has a crank sensor mounted through the transmission bellhousing. If it does, you'll need the transmission bellhousing that has the hole in it for the crank position sensor or will have to modify the 95 bellhousing. The D21's didn't have the crank sensor mounted in the bellhousing until the 96 & 97 model years, if my memory is correct. You'll have some exhaust mods to do, as well. Wiring Specialties can probably help you with the harness.

 

Will suspension parts(Torsion bars, shocks & rear leaf assemblies) for the 2005+ 4x4 SE year fit an older 2001 4x4 SE?

 

2nd gen does not have torsion bars and to my knowledge, nothing from the 2005+ swaps over to the first gen. With enough money, I'm sure you can make anything work though.

BTW, I see you have a 2002 in your signature line - have you upgraded the suspension on it? If so, what did you go with? I'm having a hard time finding upgraded replacement parts for my 2001. It's still stock with 192K+ on them.

 

I have not done anything with my truck, just preventative maintenance and maintenance items on it. I originally was going to use it for some weekend off road adventures, but I ended up modifying my 2011 Pathfinder instead since I have 3 small kids also. I have done a full front suspension refresh with all Mevotech arms, Bilstein 4600 shocks, and new Timken inner & outer wheel bearings in the last three years. I'll be swapping out the KYB rear shocks for a pair of Bilstein 4600 shocks later this year also. I was thinking about installing Sway-A-Way torsion bars with a pair of 4x4parts UCAs, but probably won't happen anytime soon.

Mentioned earlier is the Hollander Interchange Manual. But you can check for this at your local library and if you're lucky, they'll have it. Pricey, but some libraries invested in this set years back. No longer in print but for 1st gen trucks, this resource is GOLDEN. I drive about 15 miles to a neighboring library where I open it up and take dozens of photos per visit. If I recall, the engine parts volume weighs over 5#.

I doubt that’s doable but would think you’d be able to find a frontier in a wrecking yard somewhere near enough.
