i had a muffler shop weld in a flowmaster 50 SUV. cost $125. yea its not a V8 sound but i like it. i do find it tends to quiet down in the upper RPMs.

LOL THATS ONLY CAUSE I TRY TO COMMENT ON WHAT I KNOW, OR AT LEAST EXPRESS IT AS MY OPINION ONLY. ITS THE FLOWMASTER 3 CHAMBER, THEY DID NOT RECOMMEND THE 2 CHAMBER WITH 6 CYL AS WOULD REALLY SOUND LIKE CRAP, I GUESS RICER IS WHAT THEY WERE REFERRING TO. WHEN I WORK ON OTHER FRONTIERS I AM ALWAYS SUPRISED AT HOW QUIET THEY ARE WITH STOCK AS I HAD MINE PUT ON AS SOON AS I GOT IT. BACK IN 05 THERE WASNT SQUAT FOR THESE.

50 series suv is a flowmaster muffler, the magnaflow is a straight thru design where as flowmaster is a chamber muffler, it could cause sound diffrence and performance diffrence as well.

Thats exactly what I want it to sound like. Then just have a nice rolled and slanted tip put on the end and be done with it.

mine sounds about the same way. i did get a clip from inside the cab while on the road but i have to figure out how to post it. i might have it up by tomorrow

Yeah I have and the Magnaflow were to loud for me. To much droan in the cab for me and the wife

i can;t really hear my magnaflow unless i take off hard or floor board it, sometimes i can hardly even tell i have a high flow exhaust i love my magnaflow system quiet when wanted to be and yet loud when you want it to be. what kind of magnaflow muffler did you have?

Got a quote today of $125 for a Flowmaster 40 series. Just the muffler no tip.

Im not sure the guy was recommending a 40 bc it would be a little louder but Im not sure if it would be too ricey.

But actually after here your clip and the other one with the 50 series I think Im going to go with that.

If the shop sells both, they shouldn't have a problem setting each in place (no welds) and letting you have a "test listen" before you decide.

Yeah no problem. I just made $100 in 4 hours today so I might be getting it done monday.
