Intake Manifold Torque

OK, installing the intake manifold refers me to step 14 in the cylinder head installation procedure. when I look at that it says to tighten to 7 ft-lb and nothing further....that doesn't seem nearly tight enough to me..... advise?

That's what the final torque is: 5.8-7.0 ft/lbs

First step: 2.9 ft/lbs
Second step: 6.5 ft/lbs
Final step: 5.8-7.0 ft/lbs

One thing when you use torque wrenches, the extreme ends are not very accurate.
I have a digital torque wrench adapter, which I can check my torque wrenches with.
A torque measurement that low I would use an inch lb. torque wrench.

I agree. When dealing with torque settings below 14 ft/lbs, I'll use my inch pound torque wrench. Just multiple the number x12. For example, 7 ft/lbs equals 84 in/lbs. Gasket material has a lot to do with the amount of torque.
