My husband and I just purchased a new ‘23 Pro-4X about a month ago to use mainly for hunting, both Whitetail in TX and Elk in CO. It’s hard to be stealthy coming in with the dang running lights on. The only way Nissan says you can turn them off is by using the parking break, but we want a more permanent, drivable solution during hunting season. Does anyone have any info on whether or not there is a specific fuse we can remove for the Running Lights, or something else we can do to disable them?

The OP question is valid. Almost every vehicle I have owned in the last ten years, there is always a need to disconnect the DRL. Years ago, not sure if it still holds true, you could not drive on certain military bases with lights illuminated during certain hours. Also, being in LE, and working security details in various vehicles, I needed to have my lights off for surveillance purposes. Some vehicles are easy to disconnect, some need to be programed out. I'm sure someone will figure this feature out as I know several members have run into the DRL fuse trying to connect accessory lights (Raptor/Taco lights in the grill). Maybe one of those members could chime in here on their findings??

I do believe that's how the municipal garage did the town's patrol vehicles years ago?? I'm not 100% sure. I would think by now, a simple relay or fuse pulled from the fuse box would be the way to go nowadays, but I am not a electrical expert. There were couple vehicles I owned that my local tech made a "jumper" in the engine fuse box which was easy to disable/enable at will ;)

Interesting.. My 2022 S model CC, 4x4 does not have DRL.

It's kind of annoying to me. With no bright trim work and the color the truck is, I've had people flash their headllamps at me at dusk out on our country roads, where it's not quite dark enough to kick on the auto headlamps yet.

I just bought one last week and was also wondering the same thing. Thanks to your post, I learned that when the parking brake is applied, the lights are off, but once the parking brake is off, the lights come back on. Let me know if I have that right and if there has been any fix please. Also, I can not get any of my 3 iPods to work in the regular USB slot. I have used 5 different cords including a USB-C cord to 30 pin iPod connection and still nothing, despite the website saying that it does play iPods. I wanted to post the link where it says that, but this site won't let me because this is my first response.

I figured out that it didn't work after I purchased it and before I drove it off the lot. My salesman did not know what to do and couldn't care less. Thanks!

I really don't care they stay on. years ago when vehicles had them I couldn't stand it but I am a slow adaptor to change:ROFLMAO:
Anyway the only time this was troublesome was going to a local (approximately 1 mile) Christmas light display and everyone had to shut off all the lights. Guy at the gate looked at me like I was a dumb **** and was clueless on how to turn them off

I volunteer at the local Christmas parade. It is at night and every entry has to have at least 500 lights. Drivers are instructed that running lights are okay but to turn headlights off. A lot of drivers have no clue how to do this. I carry sheets of cardstock and painters tape to cover head lights if necessary.

I am not sure if it would be the same but on my 2019 I pulled the DRL relay but then the left high beam would not work. The relay actually grounds the left high beam bulb so I found the ground wire on that left high beam, ground it to the body and its now all good. Low beams work, high beams work and no warning lights on the dash plus no DRL.
