I hate to be the first one but what do you guys think is the biggest size tire that will fit the 2022?
Both SV and Pro4x.

285’s will fit on factory wheels, same as 2nd gens, but if you plan on using your pro4x for what jt was built for, it will suck.
I had 285’s with lvl 8 wheels and trimmed the hell out of the truck, did a viper cut on the front bumper and still rubbed when aired down. I went back to 265/75/16 and no more problems. I’m lifted 2” with ado springs and 5100’s

For a 22' Pro-4X, (2"/1.5" lift), what would be the biggest tire size on stock wheels with no rubbing & no trimming?
Anyone have any idea?

That's awesome! Curious though, What do the beadlock wheels have to do with fitment?
My truck is a Pro-4X without beadlocks. Here is a picture of mine:

I think I'm gonna go with this:
I've emailed them some questions and after I get a response, I think that's the one I'm gonna go for.
I want to stay away from spacers!
I think that kit with 2.0"/1.5" and 285/70/17 on stock wheels will look perfect.
And I also think it will work well without messing around with any of the stock suspension components that the truck already has.
We'll see!

Hey folks, first post here and figured since this seems to be the popular tire thread I'll ask here. After 15 years with a 2015 Frontier I am in a nice 22 SV Crew Cab 4x4. Never done any wheel shopping for trucks before. What are the reliable and highly rated wheels I should look at? I see a lot of Black Rhinos in posts, any other names?

Respectfully,
Catalin

Well folks.... I've learnt the hard way... 285-70/17 do not fit. I have 17x8.5" wheels with 0 offset which is a factor for sure... But I don't think they'd fit anyways. MAYBE on stock wheels?

Lift is on the way (thankfully), and the heat gun and zip disc will be coming out.

Oops.
def. a factor, running mine just fine

He's got 0 offset wheels that are 8.5" wide. Are you at a stock offset & width?
That makes a big difference!
Heck I got a 4" lift with 1.5" spacers that equate to about -3 offset, with factory width wheels and I still rubbed.

Agreed, pizza cutters FTW!

I'm so internally conflicted right now - I don't want winter to be over because I've been having a great year at the ski hill, but I want winter to be over so I can get my lift/tires installed. First world problems I suppose...

Ok... Finally got my lift installed (with the help of my nephew who wants to be a mechanic when he finishes school), and new wheels in. I did the ADO Koni kit with the spacers on top of coils. Sadly I didn't take before measurements to compare, but I'm pretty sure the specs should have me at 3.25" up front and 1.5 in the rear.
I went with the black rhino chambers, 17x9, 0 offset, and 285-70/17 duratracs (32.7"). They "rubbed" (more like hit) hard enough in the garage that I seriously considered selling them and going with a higher positive offset (or smaller tires). After much deliberation, and testing to realize that I'd have to cut metal to make them fit.... I dove in with the grinder and made them fit. I was able to trim off a small amount of "excess" metal and a couple of mounting points, then push the plastic back and out of the way. I'll have to modify things so the plastic is mounted better, and tidy things up a bit once I know there's no further rubbing.... But they're in. Thank ****.

My advice to anybody out there that wants 33's...stick with a +18 offset or there abouts.

@lrod1707 (~+3 offset), I have no clue how you managed to make yours fit without trimming metal. Yes, I know your lift is about and extra 3/4-1", but that wouldn't have helped me here. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Actually I'm at -8 offset, Lol!
It's those 9" wide wheels that you put in that widened up the tires. That's the problem!
I have factory wheels which are 7.5" and my offset comes from 1.5" spacers.
I'm not the only truck that has this setup.
Zero metal trimming, all plastic + removal of the front mud flaps!

not sure if it’s been posted in this thread, but here’s some 285/75/16’s. Painting the steelies tomorrow. 2.5” RC N3’s front and rear, and all mud guards gone. Very minimal trimming required and if you never go off road you wouldn’t need to with this setup. I’ll personally be trimming and will post pics when the wheels are painted.

Yeah as previously mentioned, the 9" wide rims create a slightly wider track with the 285 tires, and that gets caught on the back of the inner fender. After completely cutting off the metal clip behind the liner and finding a different way to re-attach it, the tires now clear it. I'm happy now for the most part, the new 285/65r18 duratracs are a little stiffer than the previous 265/70r17 but kind of expected that with a higher load rating. If anyone is curious, I grabbed a few additional photos

I'm thinking of painting the fender flares to either match the charcoal front bumper or pearl blue to match the paint. With the matte bronze wheels, I'm leaning towards the blue. Not a fan of the different shades of gray/black/silver for the trim pieces throughout, and I really like the sparkle the pearl blue has in the sunlight (TouchUpDirect shipped a small can within 24 hrs of ordering).

I think if you did the heat mod and made it flat. That or just lifting it so it won’t touch.
I want to keep the susp stock, so I'll have to reconsider if I want to go to 285's?? I may stay stock size and go to ko2's but not sure that's worth messing with just yet since my current tires seem fine? Decisions....decisions. Thanks again! Your truck looks great! I'm jealous but not sure the rubbing is worth it. I guess bottom line....how much does the rubbing affect your driving off-road? Does it damage the tire or the fender well at all??
