Yeah this is why most people are buying dry cell battery every year. Its all money making so people talking about it, so people make money and don't sell the losing side or the negitive side of the money making. All tread has a end. Wet cell battery are over 100 yrs technology. Know why phone explode? Dry CELL battery, that's why. 😎

My Jeep Grand Cherokee as a AGM. It has preformed as well as a wet battery. The reason the jeep has one is the batter is under the passenger seat floor board. In case of an accident / roll over no acid would be spilled into the cab.
If you're in a rollover collision, I wouldn't worry about a little bit of spilled acid. That's for the junkyard to deal with.

Dry cell batteries were invented in 1887. That's over 100 years.
He is correct. And wet cell batteries go back to 1700 in the modern era and may have been in use over 2000 yrs ago in the Medea-Persian era, in what would now be modern Iran and Iraq, using copper and iron as electrodes.

I just finished reading another one of his biographies, he didn't murder anyone. I have no idea where you get this stuff from, how about quoting some actual reliable sources? The Wardenclyffe site was a wireless energy and communications experiment, which only operated once, he ran out of money and George Westinghouse refused to continue handing out cash.

Let's not cloud the topic with facts now..... :ROFLMAO:

The Russian people in greenpoint told the story. You book are story.😂

Installed an AGM battery not too long ago.... and the other week I accidentally pushed the button for the dash cam to records 24/7 instead of just ACC.... used my battery jump pack to start it and was on my way.... well yesterday, I go to park my truck after a 3 hour car ride from up north.... AND IT DIES WHILE DRIVING?!?! straight up just stalled and died.... let it rest for 10 secs and was able to start it again... this morning starts right up... put it into Reverse and it just dies on me....

Going to swap out my battery and run to O'Reilly auto parts and get it load tested/warrantied... (hopefully I still have the reciept.) Will keep you posted... but it seems like my truck definitely didn't recharge this battery from when I had my dash cam set for continuous record.... UGH!!

I'd be interested to hear if the battery were bad, but gut feel tells me this has nothing to do with it. Once the truck is running, removing the battery is a bad idea but should not stall the engine as the alternator is now supplying primary power to the truck systems. I'd check your battery terminals and ground points over real good, to start with. Also, ever changed crankshaft or camshaft position sensors?

Terminals are super clean and tight..... I was shocked when the thing just stalled on me... was like WTF is this?? hoping it's just a battery... about to leave work here in a hour or two.... never changed anything on the engine except oil and air filter.... do you think the crankshaft or camshaft are bad??

Random stalling is often a crankshaft or camshaft sensor. I'd change crank first, it's more important and is much easier to change out. Be sure to use good OEM grade parts, Denso, Hitachi or OEM Nissan. The FleaBay and AutoZone stuff's really no good, and not that much cheaper, in reality.

AGM's are great for dedicated offroad rigs (or racecars) where rolling is a serious possibility (atvs, side by sides, rock crawlers, desert trucks, etc), but their benefits aren't very relevant to the average Frontier owner, even those who go offroad quite a bit.
They don't last as long as flooded batteries, they are more finicky to charge, and can be much more easily damaged due to over discharging or improper charging. I've run them in the past, and for a daily driver they definitely aren't worth the added cost. I would stick with a flooded battery. As skibane said, if you want more capacity, just run a larger flooded battery.
Do you have any real data on the life of an AGM vs. traditional?

I had a 13 yr old Optima back when they were good. It only died cause it was in my weekend toy in a storage garage with no power and I didn't get there in time to start the car again, and it froze. What I should have done was take it out and bring it home. Anyway, que sera, sera. But I hear all sorts of stories now that their quality is crap now. I got that battery back in 1994 from a coworker, it was a beast. Wouldn't give you a nickel for one now.
As to what's running around out there these days, the Odyssey line seems to have a much better overall rep.

Northstar AGM is worth checking out. Ubiquitous up in AK when I was there for 10 months. Will be getting one when my OEM battery needs to be replaced. I think the OP only needs a decent wet battery. No need for a deep cycle type battery.

Batteries Plus, X2 AGM group 24f is what i put in my Frontier. I got it on sale last fall. Also have a Duracell AGM in the back, bed being charged by Battery Doctor when truck is running. Overkill ? Works for me. Had my fridge running off back battery when i went to the Coast in May.
