Windshield Washer Nozzle

When I bought the truck the passenger side was weak and eventually quit working all together. I popped the hose off to check that fluid is getting there and it is. I can't figure out how to get the nozzle off the hood without breaking it so I can unclog. Anyone have any insight or have this problem before?

cut off the bottom of something rubber and use it to trap some booshit like this around the nozzle, submerging it.

I would really like to get it out of the hood. I'ts going to be much easier to unclog than try to make some crazy contraption with it on the truck.

And I agree they suck... try having only one. At least its the D side.

That bottle of CLR that roastbeef posted might actually be a good idea. Only instead of making a dam around the nozzle. Just pour some into the w.washer tank when the tank is nearly empty. Try a 50/50 mix of water and CLR. Then just keep a couple towels on the cowling, winshield or wherevever needed to catch some of the washer mix. Once in the line let it soak for 15 minutes or so or until the nozzle is cleared of calcium deposits. Well.. that is if the nozzel isn't clogged with some other kind of foreign object or debris. If it is, then I guess you're SOL.
P.S. Probably not a good idea to leave the CLR/water mix in the tank for more then a couple hours. Just fill the tank with water...should dilute the mix enough to not be an issue.
This came across my mind last night. But again how is that easier than taking the nozzle off the hood and soaking it in a cup of CLR (or whatever)? Good idea none the less, maybe if the lines and whatnot were clogged but to me it just sounds like a lot of extra mess/work.

I'm gonna go out and see what I can do about getting it off here in a little bit.

BTW here are the replacements from courtesy for FIRST GENERATION Frontiers. What the differences are, I have no idea.

joefrontier I'm assuming you meant air compressor. :p I'll have to give that a try. I got the nozzle off earlier and have it sitting in some isopropyl alcohol now to see if that gets me anywhere. The nozzle was pretty easy to take off. It's seeing it and getting up in there is whats difficult.

I stood on the tire. very uncomfortable.

Well rubbing alc. did nothing after an hour and I don't have an air compressor here at home. So I'm sort of at a stand still for the time being.

The hole is 0.031" (1/32).
You can use a cutting torch nozzle cleaning tool.
As someone said earlier; Try not to enlarge the hole.
The pin I used was smaller than the holes. I don't think I'd recommend using a torch tip cleaner if enlarging the holes would be a problem. Also, the problem wasn't a restricted hole, but more like stuff piled up on the inside of it, as I believe the hole is probably only 1/16" to 1/8" deep with an open cavity behind them.
