Tried Everything but I cant get rid of the Squeak

I've read nearly every thread on this for my 05 CC and I still can't get the squeak to stop. I've:

1)Greased the leaf springs with white lith.
2)Had the Fuel Pump replaced
3)Had the front bushings tightened
4)retighted all bolts on my JBA exhaust and bent the hangers foward
5)felt pads on rubber hood stops
6)Readjusted front steel bumper (got rid of one squeak doing this)

Still it squeaks on bumpy roads that make the truck sway from left to right. It seems to be coming from the back right under the truck. When the trucks in park and I push it from left to right / jump in the bed I hear nothing. I try to shake my exhaust around and again I hear nothing. Any suggestions?

try tapping the gas tank.

Just went for a drive, I noticed when i quickly tug the steering wheel right (doesn't happen when I pull left), it makes a creaking sound, but if i tug it harder it will squeak. I've tapped the gas tank, no squeak after they replaced the fuel pump. Any ideas why this is happening? Again, I've already had the bushings tightened.

I have the same problem, I can bounce on, push, rock, jiggle my whole truck and can't get it to make the sound, but when I go down an uneven road or some speedbumps at like 15 mph it squeaks like no tommorow... it drives me nuts... and when I finally made time to take it to the dealer, I couldn't get it to squeak for the life of me... it's loud tho, and kind of embarassing.

I had the same problem for a while, first I tried the grease, that worked for a couple of days. Then I decided to try to put those felt pads for chair legs and stuff, no noise since ( well maybe a little but only when offroading)
I forgot to mention that I've already tried that as well, so in my case I dont think that's the problem.

What part exactly is the hood hinge and hood bump rests??
If you open up your hood, it's the two rubber stoppers on the top far right and left side. Can someone drive their truck and tug their steering wheel slightly/quickly to the right and see if that generates a squeak for them?

Could the squeak be from the fuel tank? New gens are plastic, but metal tanks in other vehicles have rubber anti-squeak strips. I suppose plastic could sqeak too maybe? 21 GA of gas would weigh nearly some 170 Lbs. Does the squeak vary with fuel level? Probably a dead end, but a thought.

Nah, happens regardless if I'm driving with a full or empty tank. For the longest time I thought it was my jba exhaust, but I've really tighten all the bolts to the hangers and bent them (the hangers) all foward as well.

i had a similar squeak and they fixed it by lubing the front hinge on the hood. i could have sworn it was in the front suspension or body mounts (have you tried checking those bolts yet?) but it was definitely cowl shake. might wanna try the felt thing just in case, and even if that's not it, that'll eliminate a future problem:thumbsup:

the big bolts that hold the bed and cab to the frame... (where body lifts go) sorry bout the pads thing, didn't realize you had those, thought you'd just greased them...

Thanks for the tip, I'll go check the bolts tomorrow.

Do you grease those big bolts that hold the body to the frame or just be able to tighten them??

i think they are supposed to be greased but i dunno about yours since it's got the body lift, might wanna call AC and ask them what's up on that one...

Leaf spring retainers

i have the same problem too, it is your leaf spring retainers, you know the ones holding your leaf springs together, have someone bounce on the rear of the truck or whatever makes it squeak and have a look through your rear tire wheel wells and check the retainers, you can put your hand on it and actually feel the squeak, if that is your problem jus grab a big pair of pliers and pry them apart and you shouldnt hear it anymore, i believe older hardbodies had the same problem, and that is the fix. lemme know how it goes...

I've greased those leafs like crazy and still get a squeak. It's werid, but when I jump in the bed nothing... Plus I've tried to see if the sound is coming from the spare, but that doesn't look like that's the problem either. I'm going to see if greasing the front bushings is going to help.

In most cases, it has been the leaf spring retainers. Dealer lubed mine last time, grease dun wore out already.

Pry the retainers apart it WILL work and you wont have any problems..

i got under my truck yesterday o check it out. it seems the squeak is only noticable when u launch foward or if the rear is moving up. downward or reverse movement does no seem to make the sound. anyway, i took the spare off and started moving stuff around, its defitnly the leaf springs. and to be honest, mine are looking a little beat up, almost complete straight with no payload

One more down, hopefully not more to go

So far I've managed to get the fuel pump to stop the squeaking (TSB), the front bumper (tightening screws), and last night I realized that newest squeak was coming from the top of the hood stoppers. They were apparently coming loose, but now the problems been solved for now. I still don't think my other squeak is coming from the springs, and it only happens when I make a right turn.

I don't know if this would help anyone else, but I was having a squeak when going over bumps and I noticed that my tailgate makes a squeak when raising and lowering it. When I shut the tailgate, for some reason it does not close very tight. I lubed the hinges and everything. Squeak went away for now. I am wondering if there is a way to tighten this so there is no movement when going over bumps? Hope it helps some.

For the tailgate just loosen the catches on either side of the bed and push them forward a little bit and then retighten them. Just make sure the tailgate still closes. This will tighten it up a lot. I would also go over every body mount. I have a bl on my 1st gen and ever since i installed it i have had a creak noise from the right rear of the cab. I removed the blocks lubed them up and then put some lock tight on the bolts and tightened them down. The noise is gone for now.
