Hi Guys,

I was wondering if I can lift my truck using longer coil overs with longer shocks and spacers on the back to lift it like 4". I am also thinking that aftermarket UCA will be needed.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I would suggest reading the suspension sticky. It will answer everything x 60.

Thanks Guys I will check the sticky.

That is why I said that i am considering to improve the UCA's. my main points are:

1- The 6" lift will be too much for my 285-70-R17 tires. I don't want to put bigger tires
2- The 2.5"lift kit I have now seems to be still too low. Tires are still rubbing a little even with some trimming.
3- I don't really need a Titan Swap since I don't do any off road.

Anyways, I will read the sticky and will revert if needed.

Thanks a lot.

1- The 6” lift won’t change much in terms of what size tires you can fit, plus you’d need new wheels & thus new tires because it requires 18” rims to clear the tie-rod or spindles or something.
2- Tires that size will still rub in the same places with the 6” lift, likely worse if the aftermarket 18” wheels you choose have a different offset.

Correct. And if you read my very first post here I don’t like the 6” lift because in my opinion is too much room for my tires. It looks like disproportional

My point is it doesn’t matter if it’s 1.5” spacers, a 6” drop bracket, or anywhere in between, it doesn’t matter in terms of ground clearance unless you can throw bigger tires on it. Go much beyond 32” tires and they will generally rub in the same places regardless of how much lift you’ve got.

It actually does, because after making the wrong choice he will be so disappointed that he will wish more people were more honest about it, as a matter of fact, a lot of lift kits will make your vehicle drive so badly that you will wish you didn’t waste all this money, a very small proportion of the kits will make your vehicle drive better than stock, I suggest you should go watch shock surplus on YouTube they are the professionals when it comes to these stuff, ask them for a specific recommendation they will gladly dive deep into it and give you a specific recommendation tailored for you, I can tell you with 90% certainty that they will tell you to go the titan swap route if that’s where you want to end up

thank you Sir. As my initial post says, I wanted recommendations about how to lift my truck and why. I don’t want to make a mistake as you explained above. And I truly appreciate your comments. What I don’t want to discuss here is why am I am doing it if I don’t do any off-road, that is not the point here.

The personal wants/needs of a lift are not as intuitive as many would/might want to think. Thus the stickie - and why it's linked so many times on this forum. It's not an easy read because there are many aspects to know/understand/comprehend first - before choosing the best path to achieve one's desired results.
