Already added all weather mats, LED headlight bulbs, and a locking gas cap. Here's what is up next

Stalks will be up for sale/trade soon. May do a basic install as I don't like the factory operation of fogs off when hi-beams on. As I was a Navy electrician, I know a work-around I used on my 2007 Frontier. Also due for modification, adding driving lights, painting the steelies and tinting the windows.. Found several ideas here on the forum.

I'm wondering that myself. I hate the way that my fog lights will only come on if the headlights are on. All my previous trucks they could at least be turned on with just the parking lights and no headlights. But it would be cool to 1up that by having complete control of them like in the Tacoma links that you posted.

Has anyone done this on our Frontys?

If wiring to an independent switch (as opposed to the factory stalk), then the task of turning the fogs on independently seems much easier. Though, this is coming from a dude w/ an above average respect/FEAR of electricity. YMMV!

Agreed...however I'd like to keep the stock fog light switch on the stalk but just have it work independently of the headlights/parking lights switch on the stalk.

I don't have a clue where the fog light switch is at on the Tacomas...maybe it's not on the Tacoma stalk? Which would make it an easier mod like you are saying...

Ok I think I follow you now...so it makes the fogs dependent on the key switch to accessory for power rather than the headlights switch to on?

I think that might be a mod worth looking into...

So it appears you want to add AUTO headlights with the stalk? Does this work on a 22? I ask as I tried to do the same thing on my '20 (previous years of the D40 had been plug and play with trucks that had the light sensor wiring - which mine does) but the 20/21's do not have the capability anymore. Something was changed in the body control module which doesn't allow the stalk to work. I will be interested to know if it works in the new models.

My truck already has the "AUTO" headlights. I'm adding/modifying the operation of the stalk mounted fog control. Standard control is FOGS off when HI-beams turn-on, I want to have FOGS on always when either HI or Low beams on. I modified my 07 Fronty to operate FOGS when PARKING LTS on, so FOGS remained on no matter if HI/LO/PARK, then turned off with IGN. I don't remember the wiring but will be looking into the 2022 wiring schematics for connection points.

im literally planning to have this setup installed on my SV since i dont have factory installed. im trying to inquire in a nearby nissan service center to ask if they can do it before i order it online at z1. how was it so far? are our 22 frontier S/SV prewired for the foglights?

The Z1 kit should be plug and play. I have it on order from there as well.

I'll be interested to see a write up that modifies the factory installation to allow fog lights on with head lights off. Keep us posted on your mods.

I was unable to find the 2022 wiring diagram, awaiting digital factory service manual, so I completed the standard OE Fog/DRL install. Also installed LED modules in each. See other mods within this thread.

I've had those I-board running boards on other trucks I've owned and they have worked great. My last set started to peel some paint so I used bed liner on them and they came out perfect. What width did you go with?
