I just ordered one, hopefully it arrives by the weekend for install.

installed!

Well I bought it and answered my own question. It is not designed to work with a bodylift. lol.

But I love it! Got it to try and help with MPG, but so far it has only made my MPG worse. All I want to do is get on the gas as soon as I hear the intake start sucking in mass amounts of air! hahaha! It's a gas. Super satisfied with fit and finish. Can't beat a full system for under $90. Just gotta stop flooring it everywhere so I don't have to fill up every other stoplight. ;)

Thanks for the photos Pro-4SEX...

I just ordered mine today. We'll see how this turns out.

My experience with CAI's is that the computer adds more fuel to match the increased airflow thus decreasing my mpg. Hopefully with a bunch of you guys installing them we will get an honest assessment of the true mpg change!

finally bought one of these after reading through this post for the 5th time.. Have been real hesitant of buying full CAI for under $100. thanks China!

I think this may be somewhat true. However, the main reason why my MPGs have dropped since adding this is because of the AWESOME POWER and AWESOME SOUND! Like, seriously, all I wanna do is go fast now, all the time.

With regular road tires and the stock intake I was getting 18mpg.

With off-road tires and this CAI I'm getting 14mpg.

Ok so I just installed this today and here are my first impressions:

DAYUMMMMM this thing is loud!

I was really stunned at how much louder it is than the stock airbox, specifically from 5K-redline RPM... At that high RPM it makes almost a vibration noise that I'm not sure I like. I'm going to tinker with it a little more to make sure it's not picking up a vibration. I might also try a different filter (the one that came with doesn't really scream high quality). Probably either a K&N or a Green cone filter.

I also have a beef with the hose that they provided for the breather. It's not sized appropriately in either length or diameter to go over the breather port on the valve cover. I'm going to have to get some hose to fix the problem.

Otherwise, It went together pretty easy. It would have been a less than 1 hour job for sure if I hadn't dropped a small flathead screw-driver into the depths of my engine bay.... The search and rescue mission took longer than the install!

x2 on everything you just said. I did go out and buy a hose that was 2-3 inches longer that made everything look and fit much better. And as for the vibration I experienced, a little mending to the tube bracket that was supplied stopped the neck from tapping the heat shield. no vibrations otherwise.

I'm thinking that my vibration is more related to resonance in the tube, although that still may be because of the tube bracket providing a solid 'link' to the engine. I think that the intake has made the engine sound a little 'tinny' also. It's dead quiet when you are light on the throttle, but the more the RPM's rise, it gets quite loud.

I'm considering putting some dynamat in a few spots on the bottom of the intake tube to try to dampen the resonance of the tube. I'll probably also coat the heat shield, but I'm not sure what that will do.

Part of me is tempted just to go back to stock and call it a day, but I am running about 1mpg higher w/ this thing installed (though admittedly, that might be because the noise ticks me off every time I get on the throttle)

I've been thinking about buying one of these. But all of you guys that have put them on, all say the same thing ... "It's loud, really loud"! Now, don't get me wrong, I don't mind a little loud, if it sounds good.

Let me ask you guys this. The loud sound that you guys are talking about that comes from this intake, doesn't sound like one of those stupid little Honda Civics or Honda Accords does it. You know the one's that we have ALL seen racing around town with their foot in it going... Bwaaauuuahh, with a deep throaty sound.

That is a very annoying sound, as many of you know. Has anyone tried to put a top lid on that box, and hold in some of the sound. I don't think it would hurt the performance of the C.A.I. at all. But I do know that if I bought one of these, and it has that Honda Civic sound to it, and I could NOT quiet the thing down, I would probably take it off.
