Is Black Wire Loom Split Tubing Heat Resistant?

Hello.

It got real cold up in my neck of the woods (Canada), so I fished out my block heater cord and routed it to the opening beside the license plate. The entire block heater cord is covered with the black split wire loom. The only way I could get the plug where I wanted it was to route the cord under the radiator. The black wire loom split tubing is resting against the bottom of the radiator. Does anyone know if the split loom is heat resistant? Will it melt from the heat of the radiator?

Thanks!

I would suspect that it would get "soft" from the heat and might deform....
but I would not expect it to melt away.
You might try a piece in boiling water and see how resiliant it is then.

Here's from a catalog the specs . The manufacturer uses better quality sleeving than is generally available at a parts store/stereo/electronics shop.

Polyethylene provides good abrasion resistance.
Temperature range is –40° to +200° F. Black and choosea-
color are UV-stable for outdoor use. Flame retardant meets UL 94V2.

Nylon offers a higher maximum temperature than polyethylene and has excellent abrasion resistance. Temperature range is –40° to +300° F. Color is
black with a gray stripe.
