I tried to get a few quotes, and they seem a bit ridiculous. One shop said between 12 and 16 hours, at least $1100 for install. I didn't even bother to ask if this included the alignment. Does anyone know of a good place in NorCal that is reasonable?

I can install one in about 4-5hrs by myself. I would only charge about $450 to install it. Its still a pretty easy install. Shop around a bit more.
took about a month or more to get the front of my fabtech installed. but then again, every bracket was bent, one of the cam bolts was seized to the LCA so we had to cut that off and order a new LCA (bushings are a non-servicable item apparently). the strut spacer thing won't fit over adjustable ranchos, so had to get different coilovers.....but ended up not using the spacers anyway. the joys of beating your truck up off road......everything underneath will eventually be bent.
