Please excuse the long intro, but I think the more info I put out there the better the advice will be, as well as mitigate questions.
My 2016 S 2.5 auto, I bought 3 years ago with 90K miles. Didn't have any codes, but idled rough when stopped. Finally threw an O2 sensor code, I changed both and had immediate positive results; smooth idle, more power, and better economy. A few months ago by and I get the lean condition code P0171. I changed air filter, cleaned MAP sensor, replaced MAP sensor & PCV valve, checked for vacuum leaks.
Another issue that I think is now related, it always sounded like a Dodge starter, a little drag and winey. Battery died, I replaced it. Same issue so I ordered a new starter, it improved but t's still not starting normal, compared to an identical truck. So I'm down to thinking plugs/injectors or fuel module.
I'm not getting miss fires or codes, and I'm frustrated that there's no port to test fuel pressure. I made a brass T with 100psi gauge but I'm not exactly sure where to splice it in??
I see 2 hoses coming up from under the master cylinder; one into the EVAP on top the engine, and a slightly smaller one going to the front of the engine into the fuel rail. I'd just like some confirmation before I cut it, that it's not a fuel return line and I need to look deeper. Really would like to confirm PSI before paying for a fuel module and dropping the gas tank, I'm more inclined to fabricate an access panel.
Any advice is much appreciated!
