Hands-free texting assistant?

My 2017 SV came with the "Hands-free Texting Assistant" as stated on the window sticker. It has a caveat that a compatible cell phone is required. I paired my IPhone 5S and the voice part of the blue-tooth works, but when in the Blue-tooth menu the Texting Assistant does not show up as an option. Does that mean my 5S is not compatible?

Your phone is compatible- it's just that if you use an iPhone you need to use "SIRI Hand's Free"... that program is already installed on the truck and you just have to enable it. I have mine set up on a "short press" and it works great - your manual gives plenty of details on the setup so be sure to read it.
SIRI works really well for a text or to read one - vehicle has to be under 5mph to see it on the screen though. I use it to also check my schedule, weather or other SIRI tasks.

I gave a non-hands free text assistant head unit, but i use SIRI via my steering wheel
