Here’s a quick guide to the interior fuse box for most 2005-2019 Nissan Frontiers (D40). Note that depending on the model year and trim level, some of these might be slightly different, but to be sure you can refer to the fuse box cover in your specific vehicle for any differences.

Where Is It?
Access is easy – just open your lower glove box, and on the right side you’ll see a small rectangular panel. There’s a hole at the lower part of this panel, just put your finger into the hole and pull the panel out.

Here’s a few notes regarding certain specific fuse slots / features:

Labelled “POWER SOCKET UPPER” in some vehicles, my truck does not have a fuse here, but all of my power sockets work.

My photo shows a 20-Amp fuse, but it should be a blue 15-Amp fuse.

If you don’t have an OEM subwoofer, this can be tapped into for a power source for an interior accessory

SP1 – SP3
These are empty slots to store spare fuses.

FPT
“Fuse Pulling Tool” use this to remove fuses easily. The tip snaps onto the fuse, then when you pull outward the fuse will unplug itself, travel through the tool, and magically fall into your hand.

RPT
“Random Plastic Thingy” there’s something that disengages when you pull this, I don’t know what it is so just leave it there.



PAY ATTENTION: About the Fuses
If you pull one of these fuses out from this location, you’ll notice that they are short and stubby. These are not Mini-ATO fuses, they are known as “Low-Profile Mini Fuses” or LP-MINI fuses. Be aware of this when you look for some spares, as these are not as common as regular Mini-ATO fuses that look like they’re the same from the outside, see below image:

There is not much information on the inside of the cover. It’s like they want to take it to the Dealer so they can charge you up the but. I paid $35.00 to find out fuse 37 is the one handles the taillights and license light bulbs

 

Is there a certain fuse or circuit you are looking for? maybe post what you are looking for to help members help you?

 

Both of the power seats quit working at the same time, pretty sure it is a fuse. I have yet to find any chart or breakdown that is labeled power seats. Any chance you can tell me where that one is at?

Would much appreciate it if you could. My kid ran the drivers seat to the front as far as it will go and there is no way I can even get into the truck.

NicoClub has the entire service manual for free. Download it, it's pure gold, I've used it too many times to count. It has everything, its literally the OEM Nissan troubleshooting and repair manual. All wiring diagrams, fuses, disassembly steps, troubleshooting, torque values for all bolts.
They didn't have 2014 but I downloaded 2016 and I have yet to find something that didn't match my truck. Beautiful thing about a truck that hardly changed since 2005.

Just the Sirius xm portion of my radio isn't working. The Sirius service team hasn't been able to pinpoint the problem. Could it just be a fuse and if so, which one?

 

You probably blew that 50a fuse that supplies both seats. The circuit breakers would have self-reset after cooldown, so my first suspect is the fuse.

 

Hi I'm trying to find the location and number of the relay for the fog lights on my 2013 SV Frontier. There is no sticker with the fuse/relay layout diagram on the underside of the cover. I don't see it listed on the location diagrams but it is shown in the circuit diagram. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

 

Did you check the IPDM cover in the engine compartment yet?

Thanks for the suggestion Raymond. Yes I had checked that but it only shows fuses and a couple of relays not the fog light though. I read the FSM and it seems a lot of the relays are actually integral to the IPDM after 2010 models and one of those is the fog light one. So I'll have to trouble shoot the control system to figure out where the problem lies.

Interesting. In my head a fuse and a relay serve slightly different purposes so I'm surprise that the relay has supplanted the fuse. Head scratcher for me

 

Yes, I know this one is a zombie post, but for anyone who might accidentally read this, no, relays and fuses have completely different purposes and neither have replaced the other. I have rarely seen relays that incorporated a fuse integrally, but the fuse was still replaceable w/o scrapping the relay itself.

These diagrams are not correct for the 2020-2021 Frontiers. Both of these model years have the 3rd Gen drivetrain. Which means they also have 3rd Gen IPDM and relay boxes. They're completely different from older Gen-2's in both layout and fuse numbering.

Although the 2020-2021 Frontiers have the same IPDM layout, the fuse numbers are different in the 2022 (and later?) Frontiers. More info in the files at this post.
