GUYS, need some help.
OK first of all, I own a 2009 nissan frontier CC LE.
I noticed the other day that the airbag light on the dash started flashing and the passenger airbag light is off even though no one sitting on seat. (is it supposed to be normally on, when no one is sitting down, meaning airbag is on?) or (does light only come on when light weight is put on it (like a child)?, meaning airbag is off.
I've done the light reset procedures, worked. But air bag starts flashing again in about a day or so. While in diagnostic mode, the blinking pattern/code based on what I've read here, is 3sec on, 2sec off, meaning no issue or intermittent.
I've looked on the web and on here for anything more specific about this issue but found nothing. I'm assuming there is something wrong with the passenger seat weight sensor, looks like car does not recognize when someone is sitting on seat.
BTW: stock everything, never took anything apart tor trigger light.
Guys, i'm stuck, any help?

I just follow the you tube instructions and it stays off.

Sounds similar to mine. In my case, I have found it to be a bad connection under the passenger seat. It usually starts flashing after my wife tries to stuff her purse under the seat. To fix it, I just squeeze all of the plugs under there together and then reset the light. It works every time for at least 3-4 months.

In my truck the dash light is off unless there is a problem, in which case it flashes. The one near the HVAC is on steady unless significant weight is in the passenger seat. It never flashes.

Alright, I did some investigating using my kid. Now I'm thinking its not the sensor under the seat after all. 1st, I removed the seat and checked all connections, everything looked good. 2nd I used the reset procedure to shut off the flashing light. Now looks like everything is normal,
the pasender airbag light is also off. I think I might of been wrong before.
Question, is passenger airbag light normally on or off, If no one is on the seat?
Now, using my kid, I sit him down, within a couple of seconds the passenger airbag light comes on, indiacting airbag has been disabled, he stands up the airbag light goes off, indicating the airbag is inabled, I sit down nothing happens, airbag still on still wlactivated. I did this a few times having him sit and stand, worked every time. Seems to me like it's operating correctly. Note: Even if airbag light (the red one behind steering wheel) is flashing the one for passenger still operates in the same manner as explained above using my kid. (BTW after reseting the red flashing light, it usually comes back on after a couple of hours)
I'm thinking that it's something else with airbag system. NO error blinks to give me indication of which sensor it could be. I guess next step is to take to someone to connect truck to computer to see if there are any real error codes.
Guys, is there a common sensor that usually goes bad? For example one of the sensors in the bumper that I should know about.
thanks in advance for all the help.

The passenger airbag off light should be on any time the passenger seat is empty or the person sitting in the seat is below the weight limit. The only time that light should not be on is is if a person who's weight is at or above the minimum limit is sitting in the passenger seat.

OK, now that we determined the the airbag light is not working properly, I guess it is something under the seat after all.
Question is, where is the sensor under the passenger seat? I've looked at a couple of things under the seat that could be it, I assume the sensor is a small device connected to a small air hose. Can anyone confirm that, that is it? If so I found it online for sale for about 10 bucks.
pic of possible airbag sensor.

Again, thanks for the help

I don't remember any air bag lights being "ON" at any time other than start up.

I took our 2010 frontier to the dealer, and the checked it out and told me it was a sensor in the passenger seat cushion and they don't replace such sensor, they said we needed a new seat cushion at a price of $3,200.00 and change!! I'm sure you can imagine what I had to say to them!! What I'm looking for is if anyone out there knows what fuse would need to be pulled to turn that blinking red light on dash. Please help, driving me nuts...
