what year truck are you putting it on. if its a seccond gen I have the volant and love it though the Injen and Nismo are also both very good. Exhaust I would personally do a custom set up so you have true duals with resonators and that should keep the drone down

I went back and forward between doing a custom exhaust or a already made factory exhaust. I decided to go with a Gibson with the help of a few members opinions about the low drone of the system. I figure if I did a custom exhaust and did not like it I would not know how to fix it and would be stuck with it. I hope this helps...

They do both help a little. Most intakes give about 10 -15 peak hp gain, but most of the gain is in the higher rpm range. They are also usually louder than the stock airbox at wide open throttle. Most exhausts give about the same peak hp gains. Some have complained about aftermarket cat-backs robbing low end power, but they tend to be the ones with larger piping and straight through mufflers like the banks monster exhaust. You have to decide if these mods are beneficial and worth it for you.

As mentioned in your other post, I love the Nismo intake. I have yet to find a cat back that I like. They all sound too honda-ish for my tastes. I can't wait to hear what the bassani system sounds like

Most of the time when have a CAI on you can't hear the cat back anyway.

I hope I get something out of mods would be nice, But if they just make noise and nothing else then I don't see the point.
Totally agree with you on this but I still got the CAI which has increased some power. Sounds good and priced reasonably (K@N) and still planning on the exhaust, this could be pricey and thinking what do I really get out of it performance wise. I am still doing a lot of reading via this forum and weighing.:comphead:

I put the nismo intake on my '05, big differnce. It has the largest power gains and its not too loud. As for exhust, 1st I had a weld on Flowmaster job done at the local exhaust store. It was...well a little flatulent. Second I had the Magnaflow...still farty. I have the Gibson now. Wow. Thats the kinda sound that will melt your off. With the intake it is a friggin monster. Those "That thing gotta Hemi" guys don't stand a chance.

I have a JBA exhaust system.. Deminsions is close to stock but to me the top end gain became great.. I got alot of metal added to my truck and bigger tires so i can't imagine with it on when its stock.. Im looking at any intake now and considering the nismo intake. The sound of the JBA is the bomb not to loud after certain RPM.. Cruising speed, sounds powerful but when wide open it disapears and preforms good.. Installation was easy just the last hanger is like to short because of my calmini shackles..

Did you get just the muffler put on or the whole catback?
