So how much better does one filter perform over the other during the usual lifecycle? What percentage of impurities does each filter collect at installation and at the end of the lifecycle?
A few years back Fram had an issue with their filters coming apart and paper material was finding its way to the bearings. The paper end caps were failing. Fram now offers a better filter called the Ultra and it is a very good filter and is using metal end caps.

No I can't. And neither can you. Every manufacturer uses cost cutting measures. Besides, doesn't the filter leak after you cut it in half?
Yes, we can. Maybe not you, but most of us can.

My advice to you is to cut it in half after you're finished using it. Good luck.

Searching for OEM filters for my '22 now. According to the Nissan parts website, the latest part number is:
#15208-9E01A.
It says that it supersedes part #15208-31U1B.
Strangely though my Vin # doesn't even show up on their database when it's entered. I guess they haven't updated. So it's difficult to pinpoint some parts with them for the '22.

And Z1 Off-road shows the #15208-31U1B as the correct one for the '22. And they show #15208-9E01A as the part number for older Frontiers.
Confusing!

I use WIX oil filters
2022 - NISSAN - FRONTIER (Pass Car_Light Truck) 57356XP or 57356
These are the 2 choices on their website cross reference.
Looking forward to doing my first oil change.

Purolator for me if I have a choice. WIX second. Those are typically constructed with higher quality.
