Cold tranny slips?

To note, this trans:
  • Has the ability to skip gears
  • Attempts lockup almost immediately setting a new "normal". TCC will be impacted by temps and will feel different when NOT engaged. Intended design of converter is to slip less in the first place and may be amplifying things.
  • Some clunky behavior may be expected(?) as it uses a heck of a lot of planetary gears
Many other things (to me) are new and different such as "Centrifugal pendulum". lol. Might be a while before we truly know what normal is.

So, IMO, we know it will be different. Especially if jumping from an old school trans. That said, some folks experience things beyond the normal. Hard to filter sometimes when more than one thing may be true at once.
the issue is trying to quantify different expectations - some feel every pea between the mattresses others just drive it and don't worry about it. You seem to be chasing some magic programming formula that does not exist. You are dealing with subjective opinions.

the 9 speed runs fine for me but i am not coming from a car and my expectations may be different - its a truck use it like one and it loves it - tows beautifully, hauls a load great.

imho its wasted as a grocery getter. Feels like a truck to me.
