Thought I'd share...

Model................Year...Units
Frontier 2WD 2008 1
Frontier 2WD 2009 109
Frontier 2WD 2010 2
Frontier 4WD 2008 2
Frontier 4WD 2009 12
Frontier V6 2WD 2007 1
Equator 2WD 2009 21
Equator 2WD 2010 1
Equator 4WD 2009 3

I'd seriously like to hear the story on who bought a brand new, 2007 Frontier in the summer of 2009. The 2010's were out and ya got an 07? And 3 of ya got an '08?

I am one of 25 Equator owners who cashed in their clunker? BTW - My clunker was a 2003 F150 Xcab 4X2, 4.6L V8 / 5-speed with some serious miles. It hadn't been worth $4500 for years, until it rolled onto the Suzuki dealers lot...

4 Cylinder Frontier/Equators were good for $4500 rebate
6 Cylinder 6-speed manual Frontier 2wd were good for $4500
6 Cylinder auto (2wd & 4x4) were good for $3500

Frontiers sent to the crusher in the sky....

Model................Year...Units
Frontier 2WD 2000 1
Frontier 2WD 2008 1 <--- Yes, thats a 2008 model
Frontier 4WD 1998 94
Frontier 4WD 1999 9
Frontier 4WD 2000 9
Frontier V6 2WD 2000 93
Frontier V6 2WD 2001 43
Frontier V6 2WD 2002 15
Frontier V6 2WD 2003 6
Frontier V6 2WD 2004 1
Frontier V6 4WD 1999 54
Frontier V6 4WD 2000 59
Frontier V6 4WD 2001 25
Frontier V6 4WD 2002 10
Frontier V6 4WD 2003 3

I can only assume someone wrecked his 08 Frontier or had a ton of miles on it, or other major issues killing its resale, thus making this list.

Cash for clunkers was the biggest scam on the American public in a long time. It didn't help a thing with the economy, just removed a lot of good used vehicles from the selection pool. Not to mention all the wasted parts that could have been collected.

this isnt such a bad idea in its entirety, it would help our dependence on the middle east

Bumper sticker idea..

"I can't afford a new car, I just bought 750,000 of them"

Thanks for dragging out another example of a depressing time and era for our country. Just love it how taxpayers helped others buy a new car. Can't wait for 2012.

Can't wait for 2012.
No kidding! :censor:

Tax rebates on electric vehicles were up to $7,500 out here in California. In addition, for a while they were able to get a special permit for carpool only lanes allowing them to drive in those lanes with only 1 person (the driver). Those cares with the sticker have on average a $4,000 markup with private party sales in the used market.

cash for clunkers wasn't a bad idea, believe it or not people with REAL clunkers made out well. you can't blame the gov't for the idiots who clunkered thier 01 pathfinder for a prius. i just couldn't believe some of the vehicles idiots brought in to that program, where as if they just traded in i am sure they could of gotten more money for the trade in than what the clunkers program would of gave them.

To an individual with a POS car that already planned on buying a brand new car, sure, it may have worked in their favor. To the rest of us that pay taxes, we got screwed on the deal. It did not stimulate sales the way it was intended to do, people just bought vehicles during the program. Once it ended, there was a lack of sales. On top of that, There were only 690,000 new cars sold under the program which cost taxpayers 3 billion dollars. Only 125,000 of those would not have sold anyway without the program. That's $24,000 per new car sold for the extra 125000 cars. Way to go gov't spending! I can think of 3 billion ways that money could have been better spent.

Cash for Clunkers costs taxpayers $24,000 per car - Oct. 28, 2009

I participated in Cash 4 Clunkers. I purchased a car in Virginia for $8,000 off sticker with all the rebates and incentives.

I don't know if you guys were aware, but the 2009 Obama Economic Stimulus Package also let new car buyers write off the sales tax on Federal returns. This included all the Cash 4 Clunker deals.

If the U.S. had rebates for diesel cars and pushed that technology instead of electric, I'd agree with it. In Europe, you can buy a VW with a turbo diesel that gets 70 MPG and has better acceleration than the Prius.

Because of our government's hatred of diesels, in 12 years, all 2002(if i remember correctly) and older heavy diesel trucks will have to be scrapped (holes drilled in block). The industry can not afford this.

Now they're trying to go after the farmers too. Many I do work for have said that they can't purchase the new Tier IV equipment, it's just too expensive.

They seem to have missed that diesels produce less CO2 and NOx emissions than gas. Yes diesels produce particulates, but most particles are so heavy they immediately fall to the ground.

Diesels also get shafted with the emissions scale. Take the Ford diesels for example. In 2004, the 6.0L produced 10% of the emissions of the 7.3L. The 6.4L, 10% of the 6.0. And the 6.7L, 10% less than the 6.4. At idle in downtown LA, the air coming out the tail pipe of the 6.7 is cleaner than the air it's taking it. ****ing diesel powered air purifier.
