While the whole grill would be a great alternative, the other option is customization of the mesh inserts that I have seen from various members as well as options out there on Amazon and eBay. My attempts at using gutter guard mesh and getting it rigid enough to flush mount small LED DRL's and accommodate that stupid state requirement for the front license plate are pushing me to look to a purchased option. There are these three strut like braces in the front lower grill that are angled that I have been struggling with.

https://www.customcargrills.com/Custom-Nissan-Grills.asp and we discussed fitment of the lower grill as he doesn't have an option there quite yet. He's got an untested 09+ version that he's waiting for a collaborative effort that goes with the other three upper grill options. He will work on 05-08 if I send him the template I made (just haven't done that yet). He's got some really good install videos specific to the frontier and his price point isn't that bad. Custom lettering options also available for badging as well...
