I drive a 2000 Nissan Frontier Reg. Cab, and I'm putting in a soundsystem (blowthrough). I'm running out of ideas for mounting amps, etc etc., and I've been thinking about switching to bucket seats.

I tried to search the forum to see if there was already a how to, or step by step or something out there but it said the search terms I entered weren't long enough.

So, anyone with a similar model who's gone through anything similar like to help me out?

... no input or advice?

It is much easier than you think. The holes for buckets are already there, you just have to find them under the carpet. All extra bolts are there too, just get buckets from a frontier(98-00) or xterra(00-04), take the bench out, cut holes where the bolts go and put it in. No drilling required. If you have any questions, pm me. I did this earlier this summer.

here is my thread about it, there is some more info for you in there.

No problem man. I couldn't find a whole lot of info when I was in the planning stage so I know how it feels. I was all ready to drill holes and go through a lot of work and found all the bolts and holes already in the right place. It took me and a buddy about an hour to take the bench out and put the buckets in.

Just wondering IF the stock bench seat from the driver's side could be modified. I would like to have buckets because now that I am nearly done with my overhead processor rack, I would like to build a center console between the seats that wraps around the stick shift. I looked at the underside of the seat yesterday when I replaced my carpet, and it looks like the modification wouldnt be half bad. Maybe cut the tubular support from under the arm rest, remove the armrest, and cut/trim, and sew the fabric...What do you guys think?

4drz, I'm not sure on exactly what you mean. If you are talking about cutting the bench and sewing the fabric, that would be extremely unsafe. You would have to make another mounting bracket for each seat. The bench only has mounting points on the very outside of the seat, so cutting it would only have it bolted down on one side per seat. Does this make sense?

Polonez, I am not sure if those would bolt up or not. You could always modify the mounting points to make them fit if needed but this would require cutting and welding. I would check on some pathfinder websites and see if anyone has tried it the other way. It seems like when I was looking into the swap I saw some pathy guys talking about putting our seats in their vehicles.
