My guess it might be possible but highly doubt any plug and play options. In fact it will take a miracle to retro fit a hi rez camera to the HU on a oem Nissan. It will be easier to toss out the whole HU for a new HU and then run new wire to the camera. But then you lose most of the functionality for usb ports, gps, etc.. and allot of that will also need to be retrofitted with new harnesses and wiring. And you got to be careful about speaker inpendance. Since you have a Pro 4X i'd just leave it well alone. You already spend big bucks for the premium package with the fender system. It sucks I know but for whatever reason (who knows) Nissan completely knackered the back up cam on a very expensive truck.

I suspect this to be true. Probably good to also confirm pinouts etc... never know when things get switched up.

I’m still waiting on the camera fix. It’s so terrible. My wife has a 2022 rogue and the camera is so crisp. I have a 2023 pro-4x with an early 2000s looking camera. I wonder if a plug and play swap would work if I bought the rogue replacement cam
Well you seem to be one of the few to have access to a Rogue camera... We await the answer to this question, lol.

I was curious to compare the back up cam between Rogue and P4X because I couldn't believe there would have been that much difference. Looking at a couple of YouTubes I snipped a few images. And to my surprise, the Rogue does appear to be spanking the P4X. I'd say there is quite a difference here. Really a shame Nissan could not have at least provided the same specs. Not only does the resolution look higher but the lighting seems to be superior. That is less Blown out or washed out. This means less glare which is very important when your trying to see under less then optimal conditions when the Sun is hitting the lens.

One could indeed have an easier time reading the morning paper w/ the Rogue's camera...but one would still need to exit the cab to turn the pages.

I wouldn't be surprised if one could swap out the camera from a Frontier to a new Rouge? I bet the connections are the same, and if not, very similar or easy to splice in?? The software does the guide lines. I would experiment with the rear camera first to verify, and move on from there ;)

Where is the source of the second part number? So who's going to try it? P4X has others camera's as well but the back up one is the one that gets used mostly. Hope somebody takes a jab at this. I can see allot of folks doing this mod.

But even if it does work, I'm not sure the increased resolution is worth the price tag...
BINGO!
What am I going to run over that my sonar is missing?

I'm trying to peer pressure @That Jamaican into opening up his wife's Rogue! Maybe he can swap them and she won't notice.

@Trent Larson found it on Nissan Canada parts page: 2022 Nissan Frontier 3.8L V6 AT 2WD King Cab S Camera Back View - 28442-9BU0B - Genuine Nissan Part

But even if it does work, I'm not sure the increased resolution is worth the price tag...
You trying to get me killed huh?. 😂
I’m not opening anything. Best I can do is provide the pic below

I don't want anything fancy, I just want a display/camera as clear as my wife's Honda's.
I'm with you! Just traded a 2017 Frontier crewcab SV/towing pkg for a 2023 loaded SV bla, bla, bla. The camera on the 2017 was absolutely without any fault on quality or picture.... crisp, crisp and so handy for all the towing I do. The new 2023 high tech Frontier loaded, is great until you get to the rear camera....... PURE GARBAGE! Literally, the resolution is worse than 144, the lowest you can watch on You Tube. This is our 4th new Nissan Frontier SV platform since 2013 and one thing I've learned is that Nissan Corporate in TN could care less about any consumer complaints.

From the looks of that aliexpress link, it looks like the connector is different on the Rogue camera.
The rogue looks like it outputs to a coax connector vs the Frontier that has a 6-pin connector, only 4 of which are used in the pigtail.

All 4 cameras on the rogue have coax running the the surround view camera control module (284A1 6RA0B)

I assume the Frontier has a similar setup but the set of four wires for each camera lead a 40-pin connector on the CCM (284A1 9BU0A)

These definitely won't be plug-and-play.
The Rogue cameras will likely need Power over Coax while the Frontier cameras have separate power in and Data out.

It'll be interesting to see if it's just crappy cameras that need upgrading to if the whole system is low-resolution.

A company called 'Master Tailgaters' has a plug and play upgrade for the Titan. That seems like it gets a little better resolution.
Maybe if they aren't already working on something, someone can figure out where they're souring cameras from?

Backup Camera Upgrade
Here's someone in the Titan forum that did an upgrade for a little better resolution.

The hard part might be finding the right camera.
I bought some stuff to play around with. I'll make a post if I can figure something out.

 Well, if you're that eager...

I got it to play Crysis....

The resolution of the input to the screen seem pretty decent.
I learned that the camera gets a 6.3v DC+, Ground, and outputs Video + and - so I could connect an old Xbox to my reverse camera.

I should have a replacement camera in today to be able to test if It'll plug and play the same way the guy in the Titan forum did.
Unfortunately, I'll be waiting on connectors until mid-march since they're all coming out of East Asia.

If you're willing to cut and splice wires, an upgrade should be fairly easy.
I'm going to try to put together a plug-in solution so I don't have to mess up the harness.

I'm still unsure about camera calibration. If anyone has some experience with that, I'd be interested to know more.
The image displayed is pretty warped and even worse in the backup + 360 cam view. I want to assume camera calibration will fix this but I don't think it's something I can do at home.

Any calibration options in settings? Hidden menu?

Clever test.

Scaling might be an issue? Other than to know how, I'm not sure you need to calibrate yet. You input doesn't have the same FOV.

... then again, if I had the answers I wouldn't be asking goofy questions.
