Since it is dealer installed the truck still has to be shipped from the factory on some sort of wheel. Then the dealer has to remove the factory wheels, dismount the tires, remount the tires on the dealer installed wheels and install the those wheels on the vehicle.
I get that the dealer is spending time and money doing that. But... Nissan shouldn't show the wheel price as being $924, if the customer can't drive off the lot at that price.

I've only found one 2024 SV online where the dealer has installed the Machined Aluminum-Alloy wheel.
Since I don't like leather and don't want a sunroof, I won't buy an SL to get those wheels.

I saw a couple of mentions of ordering from the factory.
There are dealers that still advertise being able to custom order from the factory for a customer but this isn't true.
Nissan stopped customer custom orders around the time COVID hit.
OK, so if the wheels are on the window sticker AND they are dealer installed...then what wheels are shipped with the unit?
What does the dealer do with those wheels after the tires are swapped?
Are these upgraded rims shipped in boxes in the bed or interior of the truck for dealer installation?

Yeah, I find that odd also. No line item for install in my case at least.

The manufacturer ships the upgraded wheels with the truck and dealer installs them. It is on the window sticker and you aren't paying extra for installation. You are paying the price that it says on Nissan's website for that option. When the first new Colorados came out in 2015 there was an option for a Trail Boss Edition that came with upgraded Goodyear Duramax tires, and some people that bought these trucks were actually given the extra set of original tires if they wanted them. I'm not sure what the dealer does with the extra rims. They should really go to the buyer because he or she paid for the OG rims in the purchase of the truck and then paid extra for the optional rims, but I don't think that is happening anymore. You can ask at the time of purchase whether that was a dealer installed option and what happen to the OG rims.

No, we wouldn't get extra wheels because the wheels being specified are what you paid for, aka "you got what they said you would get". It also uses the word "replaces" on window sticker.

This wheels being installed at the dealer thing isn't shocking if true but I've just never seen it happen like this except for where it actually says dealer installed and never for wheels (GM/Mopar) listed prior to delivery. Super inefficient and wasting of money.

Hard to find transport truck pics or plant pics with wheels but I did find one.

The only thing I know for a fact is that Chevy did this with upgraded tires on the 2016 Colorados that were a Trail Boss. When the ZR2 came out, Chevy did away with this option and all the ZR2s came with the upgraded tire. If the Frontiers come from the factory with that option, then you are right. No extra set of rims. Either way, there should never be a dealer installation charge for this option.

Correct me if I am wrong, the side steps and mud flaps are dealer installed on the Pro-4X, correct? I didn't see any installation fee for those on my window sticker. I just saw the cost on Nissan's website for these options. That is what was on the window sticker.

I did find examples of flaps and a sketchy image of removable step version on Gen3 during production. Unknown how long they did that or are still doing it as there are other examples of NO flaps on completed trucks.

Makes no sense. I'll just buy the truck as-is with the normal rims. Then I'll go somewhere like this and buy the rims I actually want: T99W1-9BU1K - Nissan Wheel - 17 SV. SL (use factory center caps) | ACTION NISSAN, NASHVILLE TN

Then I'll buy winter tires and put on stock rims and swap the stock tires onto my new rims.

How does Nissan know to ship those wheels with the truck when Nissan no longer does customer custom orders?
I have checked with three dealerships and they all say that custom orders by the customer is gone. Nissan no longer does that.
It is up to the dealer to order the optional wheels for the customer. That is going to be separate from what Nissan builds.

The online Build and Price isn't a individual customer order. It is a way for a potential customer to figure out what they want.
Then a dealer will work to locate the closest thing it can find to what you want. If you are lucky, your build will match what Nissan sends to dealers.
If not, you will have to take less or more than what you really wanted.

I have no clue about ordering a truck from Nissan. I was talking about dealer installed options verses options built on the truck from the manufacturer, and that dealer installed options are not being charged extra for labor. I'm sure it is all configured into the price of the option. What are you talking about?

Navara Updates?

$10k 'Forsberg Package' ?

Gumby is going to be right. I bet the only 'change' for 2025 will be this insane 'Forsberg' package
The only “insane” part is the price. Other than that, it’s off the shelf parts that have been available for a good long time & some stickers.

You might have to sign me up for those RAILS!
The rails do look nice, but I’m gonna need some verification that they’re real rock sliders, not just decorative, before I get excited.

Well, they do appear to be the exact same rails on the actual FR racing truck...
