I am pleased to say my bfg 33" tyres fit wifout a lift kit and look pretty great.

When I was searching for melt mods a lot of people used wood to hold the wheel well plastic while it cooled.
I used a heat gun until he plastic got very shiny, then held it with rounded steel while it cooled ( hammer heads, and huge tin snip handles) this kept the plastic from sticking on wood or making sharp impressions.
I also trimmed the fender with tin snips (red handled on passenger side, green on drivers). I used offset snips, aka "aviation" snips.
I also held the plastic hard to the rear and made new tighter screwhole with the screw that goes below the doorjam.
The second photo shows the cut to the fender on the passenger side.
I should add I also cut off the horizontal portion of the front air dam outer sections with a razor knife.
All in all, very happy with the mod.
