New guy with a 2004 XE King Cab 4x2, 2.4, 5 speed. I am a VW nut and have recently finished restoring my bug and I want to move on to my truck, but I don't know much about it other than regular maintenance stuff and having a bad O2 censor (Service engine light is on) to which I already had that diagnosed.

I love the truck and I've owned it since '06 and have put about 75,000+ miles on it since purchasing it. But I want more out of it than just a daily driver. I'm thinking of lifting it, regearing the rearend, and squeezing a few more ponies out of it. Has anyone ever turbo charged one of these?

There is one company in San Diego that I've found that makes cams for these engines (Schneider Racing Cams - KA24DE) and was wondering if you guys might have some other suggestions for horsepower. She's got about 102k miles on it now and will probably get a rebuild when I do get serious with the horsepower.

I was going to lower it but then Ihave lowered just about every car I've owned in the past and want to do something different (for me) being that it is a truck and I do use it as such. I found the Total Chaos kit (Nissan 2WD Frontier) and wondered if anyone here has used it? Are there any other kits that are comparable? I don't want to do a body lift.

Thanks in advance. I will be around.

there are a few turbo KA trucks, check out KA-t.org for more info, but turbo +2wd and a lift not sure where your going with that I would do turbo and a mild drop with spindles and blocks to get a real mean low stance and pavement shredding power, KA-ts can make 400+ when built right.

I've seen turbos on baja bugs and the kind of performance that has been achieved with them being bolted to a stock VW motor. I know that Nissans are a whole different animal, but I'm really just looking at options at this very moment. I am, however, tired of going low with my cars and dodging pot holes and speed bumps. My bug is lowered and pretty fast and that is fine, but the truck, I want to do other types of things with it.
