took it in for a rear door window replacement because of rubber seal coming out of the original window, anyways the dealer screwed up the first attempt replacing the window/seal,pulled the window out again and reinstalled after sanding all of the eurathane holding the window in,now i noticed the dealer repainted the whole door, and there is overspray stain on the drivers door same side of the window install,i am very disappointed i only wanted the window replaced warranty fix now i have a new window and seal but also a repainted door that you can tell isnt as smooth as factory,i am going to phone nissan canada to get involved and also get a lawyer involved

I think they should have told you what they were planning to do.

thats what pisses me off even more the service adviser mentioned sanding but didnt mention anything about repainting the whole door,i was under the impression it was the area where the small window sits in

They shouldn't have done that without telling you.
Now it's after the fact but they need to clean it up and warranty the paint for the life of the truck.

Have you contacted Nissan Canada? You'd want to make that Corporate contact your next step. Suggest that they send a factory person to examine the work done. They may be no help, but it can't hurt and if you hire an attorney, you'll be paying them to do the same step.

I'd be steamed too.

the people that initially answer the phone at Nissan canada are rude and will only reiterate the corporate line "we stand behind our dealers" etc etc. explain to them exactly what the issue is, and then tell that person you want to speak to their manager. it will take a few days, as they will review with the dealer. good luck

If your not happy with the work, tell them so. Tell them you want the door reshot. Tell them the job is sloppy and be specific as to why. You can't spot paint a certain area on a panel, and expect it to blend in. That's why they HAVE TO do the whole panel. Today's paints are water based, and are not as forgiving as the paints of the past.

went to the bodyshop today, they took off the overspray with some sort of chamical,i asked the guy why was the whole door repainted,he responded had no choice because the original eurathane that holds the window in had to be sanded rite down to the metal so the new window would sit in properly,he said the paint will have a warranty for life i said well give me something in writing he goes the dealership will provide that,i go to the dealership the advisor says we only warranty work for 12 mths of course the service manager isnt there i phoned today he avoided the call,i dont know what else i can do i have tried to deal with these people but its a cant win situation

I don't know of anybody who will warranty a paint job for life. If they cleaned up the mess they made, and made things right, try calling the service manager tomorrow, then take the one year warranty and run.

I would definately get a hold of corporate and talk to a manager not just a anybody. I would also explain that the dealer will only warranty their crumy job for 12 months and that they are being shady. We have a dealer that was like that around here. The Service Manager was a total douche. He was always rude and never wanted to help anyone properly. Well me and my brother got to talking a couple other customers to not only complain to the dealership but to corporate and suprise suprise home boy is gone now. So its a pain the rear but get after corporate they have to get tired of you and help at some point. Good luck!!

seems like no one at the dealership is willing to stand up and offer any type of warranty on the paint that was repainted onto my door,i have left emails for the service, manager and also the general manager to no avail.I telephoned the dealership to talk to the service manager yesterday, they paged him but of course i was left on hold and he didnt come to the phone.I have been trying to just forget about this nightmare but the thing that continues to piss me off is the dealership can screw up and than decide to repaint a panel on your once flawless vehicle. and it seems like there is nothing you can do about it.I have talked to nissan canada, they say they cant really do much,i requested to talk to a manager at nissan canada,he left me a message today but i was not home,i will continue to try to talk to him, thank you for your opinions and suggestions

finally got in touch with service manager yesterday after sending emails, telephone calls,i ask him why did you repaint my door,he replied we had no choice because all the excess eurathane holding the window in had to come off,i said wait a minute dont you think you should have told me your plan was to repaint the door panel. He admitted this was the first time they ever changed the small window in a king cab rear door because of loose rubber seal,i said thats obvious,i explained after the first attempt replacing the window if you were having problems why didnt you consult with a 3rd party that could do the job correctly.I phoned nissan canada and asked to speak with a manager,i told him my story,he said he would look into even tho he mentioned probably not much can be done.I talked to a body shop close to my home today and he said the window could have been replaced without repainting the door. The service mentioned yesterday that he told me the door would be repainted,i said are you insane i have the email he sent me says nothing about repainting.I cant seem to let this go,i cant believe i have to accept this ****,but actually without getting a lawyer seems like they are gonna walk away from this and im left with a 2009 nissan frontier with 13000km with a door thats been repainted because the window replacement went bad, seems like there is no protection for the customer at all,i went to another nissan dealer today and they have told me many people have complained about the same dealer that screwed me

I am currently taking Nissan Australia to task over the crappy treatment they have given my truck. Noone has the right to screw with your truck . Stand up for your rights. We have The Office of Fair trading and the Consumer Trading and Tennancy Tribunal for such matters. Hopefully you have something similar .You do have rights as a consumer and we dont have to listen to the crap that some repairers try to give as excuses.Stick it to them and dont back down.

i left work early today to personally talk to the gm or service adviser at brampton nissan, unfortunately they werent there, but i had an interesting conversation with the collision adviser that knows the story of my truck,he told me there bodyshop recieved my truck last week already scratched and without a window and were told to repaint the door panel,i said thats funny cause the service manager told me the bodyshop were the ones who did the window replacement the first time and also took the excess eurathane off the window cavity the second time, the bodyshop told me thats bullshit, they had no part of that they were told to repaint the door panel only.So now im uncovering more lies the panel was damaged along the way and they decided to repaint to cover it up.There is an agency in ontario called omvic, its a consumer protection agency i told them my situation they told me the first step is to send a registered letter to the general manager stating what happened and that is has got be resolved,i also sent one to the service adviser, the omvic guy said if the dealership doesnt respond to phone him again and send him the letters stating the wrongfull act against my vehicle and they will step in,i was so discouraged all week, but now i am hopefull,i was gonna give up just from the stress of it all,but i cant i have to fight and i will till either they replace the door with a new one from the factory with a factory flush window,or find a door from another silver 09 frontier xe and replace it, i will not accept a repainted door panel on my truck, because they dropped the ball
