Anyone else deal with this, the wireless charger makes my phone hot and will stop charging.

That's just an unfortunate symptom of wireless charging. To aggravate this, you're likely running intensive apps like maps and music at the same time.

I went through major trouble of installing a wireless pad on my center console tray only to remove it 6 months later. It just wasn't worth the constant pausing due to temp. Honestly though, what I couldn't get over was the lag. Which to be fair isn't bad, but I just couldn't.

That's normal, especially if you're using your phone. I have mine mounted below and air vent and I can use my phone & charge it at the same time. The air vent hits the top half of the phone and it keeps it cool. I've been running this set up for a while and my phone doesn't get hot, even when it's 110* outside.

Super common question. I cannot believe how many people expect the wireless transfer of electricity to be as efficient as metal-to-metal contacts, and have no idea how their phone works and blame it on the charger (truck). This is a symptom of wireless charging, and is present in every phone and instance of wireless charging. That being said, I think Nissan should've put the wireless charger under the HVAC controls in that little area where the phone would have been shaded, rather than in direct sunlight closer to the center console.

To be fair, wireless charging is usually in either home, office, or car. Neither home or office will heat a phone like a car will. Sunlight and app use as mentioned can push over the edge. Might be the Frontier is a person's first wireless car charger or even just charger.

Grumpy has it right and how I did mine - and do in all my primary vehicles.

Ran into heat issues with the better half and her Rogue. It is a shaded spot which isnt enough. She will stick to cable, but likes location. Rather than disable, printed a spacer. Dang thing isnt thick enough without a case, but idea is sound.

Not a bad fit for partially eyeballed and no cad. Was trying to stay under logo which is what burned me. I was testing with a case on phone.
