Am trying to install a 20" Led light bar on the bull on the front bumper; that is easy. BUT - where does the group suggest pulling the hot 12 volt lead from going to the relay? The battery itself or another source? Also, the switch I have (temporarily) has a white wire running to the relay and needs a hot (red) source and a ground (black) - where does the group suggest to pull this power?

Ultimately, would like to have a factory switch mounted in the center console in front of the gear shift where the round 2wd or 4wd selector is and where in my truck, only two of the three switch opening have a switch in them.

Thanks!

I would suggest pulling directly off the battery with a fuse of course.

Fused battery connection to terminal 30 on the relay.

Relay terminal 85 to ground (frame, body, etc).

Light bar to terminal 87 on the relay. Ground the light bar to the bull bar.

Switch in the truck to terminal 86. Since there is no load on this line, you can pull from either a switched hot inside the truck or a constant hot. The 12v power ports is one option. One should be switched and another should be constant.

Your switch does not need a ground. Just 12v. Grounding happens in the relay.
