The window control switch on the drivers side that controlls the passenger side window on my "05 is not working properly. Seems like I have to hit it about 20 times to get the window to roll down. And sometimes even taht doesn't work. Gettgin the window back up seems to work fine but I'm just wondering how long it will be before taht starts flaking out as well. I've got 51K on the truck and I guess that would fall under a B2B warranty so I assume it's not covered. Anyone else experiencing problems with their switchs.

I believe you were misinformed. I asked my friend who is a 26 year nissan master tech about this a few minutes ago and he said it's not an item they frequently have go bad. Sure a switch can go bad but they don't fail in large quantities. Now if they get rained on then it's owner related.

I haven't heard such a thing about Nissan switches. I have an 8+ year old Maxima with ALL of the original switches in perfect working order. My 06 Frontier is the same way.

His statement will get picked up on a broad interenet search and this is how rumors spread.
I loved my Titan but nonsense posts on those boards fueled all kinds of crap and sales dropped quickly. The Titan is a great truck but forums made to honor it also helps to kill it's image.
The same thing goes for our Frontiers. We are only a fragment of all the owners out there but what we write is what people harp on. Should I have a minor issue here or there I get it fixed and don't post it here as it will hurt more than help. I have on occasion private messaged others to compare notes rather than create a false cause for concern on the threads. I am completely happy with my Nissans.

switch removal

Not sure if you know how easy it is to get the switch out. There isn't any need to pull the door panel off.
Put some masking tape on the door handle just below the plastic trim holding the switches to protect it. Take a stiff thin putty knife or butter knife and insert between the two and gently pry it up and the panel will pop up and you will have access to the switch. A new switch is approx. $80.
There are no Nissan gods to appease. What happens is a flurry of reponse posts and people start with the "did you hear the ---- on Frontiers are failing"?
Then you read it on the other brand forums where they poke fun to make it look bad and it grows. Funny thing is their trucks aren't built any better but it hurts Frontier sales which translate into the aftermarket doesn't make things for us.
Heck I just saw a fiberglass shell on a Ridgeline. Think about that most pickup beds are open. Next there are those of us with tonneau covers and last are those with caps. There aren't a whole lot of Ridgelines out there but someone decided it was worth their R&D to create one for it.
If only Nissan got the same respect, as there are more of us than them.
Bottom line is, what is said here has an "end game" result later on.

I get to work and my drivers side window will not roll up. I noticed a small hiccup the other day where I had to press/lift the switch twice or something, but no other warning signs that something would fail.

Passenger side window works fine. I sprayed the switch contacts and plug with contact cleaner, but that did not make it work. Anyone know of anything else I can check, and whether there is a good way to find out if it's the switch or motor? EDIT: After some more searching, it looks like I can swap a working switch with the drivers side one to see if the switch is bad. I'll report back when I get a chance to try that. Other suggestions are welcomed.

this happened to me this morning...rolled drivers window down and it won't go back up....There is copious moisture in the air and it rained hard last night, but my truck is under a carport...all other windows roll down/up and all locks work both on the switch and with key fob....any suggestions?

edit: Can't find my volt meter...just my luck

I've had to replace both front regulators on mine, but it is 9 years old. Motors and switches work great.

went to the dealer and we were able to get the window up while pounding on the door under the arm rest...service writer says that is the motor going bad...they wanted 275.00 for the job...nuh uh lol.

Okay....looking at the part @ some local auto parts stores...with my scenario..is it more likely the regulator that is bad or the motor..since I can bang on the door and the window will come up...seems to me if the motor was dead..it wouldnt even do that?

banging on the case of a motor, jars the armature and contacts giving you a connection and makes the motor run. With a regulator the motor runs and the window either bumps around or sits still. The nylon on the regulator wears out and won't engage the motor.

after further tinkering...the window only gets stuck if I roll it all the way down. At which time pressing/banging the side panel enables the window to be rolled up...therefore I do believe it is the regulator....any idea on price for these?

MY 2005 LE the rear left rear window went down but not up from the master.. Disassemble the master all the way to the circuit board. A little tricky to pop off the back of the switch assembly. Clean the contacts with a pencil eraser(for those of us old enough to have played with slot cars that was normal proceduure) and or a little emory cloth. Mine was just oxidation on the up contact.I put a VERY thin coat of dielectric grease on the contacts too.
