I am looking to buy an air intake for my 2017 Nissan Frontier 4.0L V6, the only problem is I live in California and I need a CARB exempt one. Ive looked, and no one makes an exempt intake for my year. My idea is to take the 57-6014 from K&N which is exempt up to 2014 and install that on my truck. My question is will it fit? I know not much, if anything, has changed from 2014-2017. And I know it'll still be "illegal" but it will have an exempt number (for models up to 2014) which could get overlooked much more easily when I get it smog checked. Has anyone installed this on a 2017? or am I stuck with ordering the 63-6014 which does not have an exempt number?

May have second thoughts. Anyways, my friend works for K&N and I know they do not make a CARB one yet, nor will you find any seller that will ship it to you either as long as you are in California.

I would save the money better used on something else.
I am sure it has been mentioned before but the Titan uses the same air cleaner as the Frontier.
I built this one just to build. I doubt if it will improve performance. Probably just make more noise!

looks good! having just purchased my 2011 SV king cab V-6 4WD i was wondering if there are any baffles commonly used to quiet the intake. lots of xtra plastic on the top of the engine

I am sure you are right, but I am tempted to do it just to see and it look cool lol. I had one (K&N) on my 04 Mach 1 Mustang back in the day. Everyone back then said they gained - who knows, but I think you know what you are talking about.
