Go on highway set adaptive cruise control, make sure you're paying attention because it won't slow down or stop with cars in front of you.
Cruise control is completely inactive whenever the light is on. Neither adaptive or regular cruise control will work while the light is up! But as long as the light goes away (after a few minutes) it works back to normal. Like I said, I got the light twice in a week for a few minutes and then it worked as normal. I don't know how else to explain it!
Light on=Cruise control & forward auto braking inactive.
Light off=Works as it should.
Now I guess it can always revert to being in an inactive state but I yet to see that happen. I will continue testing it and post results.

Hello all,
So who has one installed, which one do you have and what issues have you faced in terms of the sensors?
I'd like one and I'm willing to give up some sensor features but I'd like to know exactly what's lost:
Is it adaptive cruise control, auto braking, parking sensors, blind spot warning, etc..
If anything is lost, does it just not work or do you get any nagging indications or do you deactivate something?
Some pictures of your Bull bar would be great as well!
Thanks,
LRod

I can see where Rough Country killed their bully bar. It was definitely confusing. I received a call on 2/7 about the order I placed for the bully bar and light kit back in December, the message stated it was still on back order and that the new ship date was 2/14 and to call if I had any questions. On Thursday, I received an email that my request to cancel the order was submitted. Shortly afterwards I did get a message from Paypal that a refund had been processed. I called Rough Country and their customer service told me first, that I failed to call them back and tell them not to cancel my order (and I told them the message I received made no mention of cancelling orders, it just stated the new ship date was 2/14). I was then told by customer support that the item was so back ordered and they had no idea when it would be available, that they cancelled all outstanding orders. I assume the real reason is due to the sensor issues and how the bar interferes with the normal function of them. I fully get it, but I have to say the way it was communicated and explained was terrible. No one seemed to really know what was going on. Being told days earlier it would ship on 2/14 and then calling two days later to be told the back orders were so great. They held onto almost $700.00 for two months and offered nothing in terms of future ordering, next steps on their development plans, etc. Oh well, guess I need to wait for when the Nismo bumper comes out.

Hi Justin

I can see your frustration, I unfortunately cannot get a refund from them. Their customer service is something only to be imagined? A small blurb was added to the ad that you have to search for in the installation instructions that the bar may interfere with some systems.
Yes it sure did. The truck shop that installed it will not do anything either except to try to sell the Bar and the 20 inch light for me. They should have known about the issues with the sensors as well. I would be willing to sell it for $300 for both, but, I have not had any interest by anyone to buy it.

Thanks for sharing

Sorry to hear that! I guess if you got it already, they are not offering a refund. I did get my money back, but no real explanation. The item cannot even be located on their page anymore, so they know there is a problem. They should definitely take care of you. If they up and cancelled it all together, and we know why....they should make good if you want to return it. Good luck!

The Nudge bar must have been removed from the website for other reasons and not because of the sensor blocking issue! I'm sure it will probably be back!
The reason I know this (I researched):
If you look for the Ford Bronco nudge bar on RC's website, it's up for sale and it also has the same issue with the sensors. It's the same nudge bar with slightly different mounting points and it's a bit more narrow from top to bottom.
And they clearly have the note about it blocking the sensors (picture & link attached!)
I'm still trying to understand everyone that is complaining though,
I have the Nudge bar with 4 lights on it, I knew that it might block the two sensors because I researched and read all the notes and everything about it before purchasing it. Despite people claiming otherwise, Rough Country had the warning on the website since day 1. And I'm extremely happy with it despite the occasional blocked sensors. I've lived without adaptive cruise control my whole life so it wasn't an issue for me. Plus you can still use the regular cruise control. And in case anybody didn't know, it's actually Made in the USA so the quality is A-1!
By the way, if you search other nudge/bull bars from other manufacturers, most have the same warning about the sensors. This is not unique to the Rough Country Frontier nudge bar!

I have no doubt it will come back at some point. It was the removal of the item from the website along with cancelling many orders for the bully bar. I am sure there will be some kind of re-design or they are truly unable to get it produced. Either way, mine was cancelled after a couple months and from what I understand, many others were as well. Their inability to properly articulate the issue to the customers is kind of what irks me. Just be up front and honest. Done call me one day and give me an updated ship date then 2 days later create a refund request as if I initiated it and when I call, I am told two different reasons by customer support. Things happen and I have waited longer for other stuff I have purchased as of late. No issues as long as you are open and honest with the customer.

Totally agree!
Weird thing is that I ordered mine from them about 2 months ago and it showed as backordered for like a week. Then another week passed and arrived at my door at that time. Also, when I initially ordered, I called them to ask about the backorder and they promptly answered the phone and gave me a clear answer about the delay and the exact availability date. I also separately ordered an exhaust tip and it arrived promptly without any issue. This was my first time ever buying anything from Rough Country. I guess everyone's experience varies though!

Did you look at Westin's Pro Series Front Bumper for 2022 Nissan Frontiers for the sensor solution. Part number 58-411275. If you look at their install instructions they list as part of the kit a bracket called the Active Cruise Control Relocator Bracket. Looks like they relocate the radar sensor underneath the Nissan Logo behind grille with a bracket as a solution. If Westin is willing to sell bracket it may solve the issue with the bull bars interfering with the adaptive cruise control.
Just a thought.

Cheers

Interesting!
I hadn't seen that. I'll look into it.
Thanks

I had multiple 2nd gens with the white rhino fab bull bar on it (look it up). Are there no fabbed bull/nudge/light bars? All I want to do is run high powered driving lights, and I don't mind if it's in the grille area. Any thoughts? Or anyone seen anything?

Bump!
I guess nobody has installed one on a '22?
Man, besides the one that Rough Country shows on their website, I can't even find a picture of any others. I guess soon I might be one of the guinea pigs for a bull bar!
Hey, I installed one on my 23, cruise control works ok, but the sensor that keeps me at a certain distance does not. Looks great. GT_ racers bull bar.

Since I got my truck and the RC Bull bar when they first came out, I haven't really followed any other bull bar releases.
Glad that other options now exist!
Due to the location of the sensors, I'm guessing they'll all have some sort of issue. Mine acts up every now and then!
My adaptive cruise control might be fine on a given day and then the next day it wont work. Not a big deal though since I simply turn it on by holding the button for a bit and it'll bypass the "adaptive" feature and work as a standard cruise control. And the front distance sensor sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.
It is what it is I guess!
The good news is that I've already had the truck for 2 years 4 months and have had zero issues. And my lift kit, bull bar, lights, etc.., have held up perfectly.
I've been very happy with the truck!
