After taking my Frontier out to the dunes, I'm absolutely hooked on the idea of turning my truck into a little Raptor >:D

I had looked into doing a Titan Swap in the past but I wanna go all out with it. Swap the front diff, all new parts, PRG Leaf pack, PRG UCA with 2.5 Coilovers... ect.

Through tons of research, I have not been able to find any straight up results on jumping performance. Now I do realize that this truck will never be anything close to a Raptor but we wanna get as close as possible ::wink::

I'm not all out just for the jumping. I do enjoy the highspeed offroading too >:D

Overall, I just want to know what results others have seen after jumping their trucks with a Titan Swap setup. Let me knowwwww ::grin::

I don't think even with the PRG swap would make it safe for jumping. It is a lot better than stock but you still have limited travel. I changed out my PRG suspension to gain more travel and still do not jump if I don't have to. I have a SCORE legal cage,5 point harness , Mastercraft seats and wear a helmet and Hans device . There is a video of Raptor jumping. Destroyed it ! JMO.

Without hoops and a cage I would not even consider it. Way to easy to rip the coil buckets off the frame and do some serious damage.

Breaking sucks! DNF the 1000 because of cracked upper oil pan. Just from slamming the truck in the whoops(hence the new suspension) not jumping.

My truck has been jumped multiply times and I havent had anything go wrong. My truck does have a few things done to it which I'm sure helps but it is a lot of fun to do.
Looks like a pretty hard nose first landing in the photo.

Indeed there is a lot more that goes into it like the cages and harnesses... Who knows. I'll have to put many more hours into research before decisions can be made :nerd:

Appreciate the feedback from everyone so far!::grin::

There's a picture of landing on here somewhere and it was pretty rough on the front, however the sway aways soaked it up and it felt amazing.

The fenders that you have also gave the clearance needed to land a jump like that.... stock fenders would not allow for that amount of travel. It also helped that you had removed the front bumper !!

Jumping an unprepared rig will cause a lot of damage.

If you want a jumper, be prepared to spend $20-50k prepping it for that kind of abuse! Long trailing arm conversion, front frame reinforcements, and custom fabrications all over the place.
If you don't do the prep, you'll be lucky to get 2-3 good jumps, before you do SERIOUS damage!

The frame just isn't strong enough to handle all that weight coming down, even in soft sand...

I've seen the damage first hand, but unfortunately, I don't have the pictures to demonstrate the damage.

Bent rear axle tubes, tweaked/cracked/broken frames, broken strut buckets, demolished control arms... Its an on-road truck, with some dirt road & trail capabilities. It's built for that purpose, not to be a toy, a sandrail, or a trophy truck.
If that's what you want to do with it, then IMO, you should rebuild it into something else, that suits your purpose.

Just saying...

That being said, if you really want to turn it into a jumper, pull the engine & trans, pull the cab off the frame, box, gusset, & cage the frame, reinforce every bracket that the suspension attaches to, remove or reinforce the strut buckets & cross brace the entire front, go with the Titan/PRG swap (at the very least!), remove the rear leafs, box & reinforce the frame where you'll have to add a long travel rear trailing arm kit (that will most likely have to be custom fabricated), gusset/reinforce the rear axle (or swap it out entirely), swap out all the shocks/struts for king products, install limiting straps, and THEN, go hit the jumps! :)

If you want to see what is involved in building a prerunner/ jumpable truck just go hang out on RaceDezert or some sections on Pirate4x4. But if you do want to post of there, be careful what you say, they are not nearly as nice as the people here.

I have caught small amounts of air in my truck with no apparent or major damage.

Sounds like the Mommy wouldn't buy the OP a Raptor and had to settle for a Frontier.
LOL!!!

I've done the same, a few minor jumps coming off the crest of a hill, that got me a little more airborne than I anticipated... The only thing I've seen so far, damage wise, is my rear leafs are starting to look a little inverted, from over-compressing them on the landing, and now I do seem to have a few more knocks, pops, & creaks, in my front end, as well.
