Does the speedometer use the abs speed sensor to display speed? Or the vss. I have a 99 automatic 6 cylinder.

So if my speedometer is working then the vss is not bad? Trying to troubleshoot transmission problems.

DTC P0744, I have to release gas pedal to get it to shift to second gear. Also doesn’t shift to overdrive 4th, hwy rpm at 60mph is above 3500 rpm. Replaced all solenoids and flushed fluid. Changed filter.
