hey everyone. so i had some work done to my truck. had to get a timing belt tensioner and an idler tensioner pulley replaced and a new serpentine belt at 41 thousand miles. so i was looking under the hood today and noticed a hose was sitting next to my air-filter and master cylinder. i noticed the hose ran to the top of the front diff. so im guessing its a vacuum line for the 4 wheel drive but not sure so maybe yall can help me with where to connect it. i got a pic of the hose and a pic under the truck where the hose ends on top of the front diff.

Front diff breather.

Now did you add the DIY breather to the rear diff? May be time for it.

O ok. that makes sense. i must of just have forgotten about that hose when i took my stock intake out.

is there a write up on the DIY. and whats the advantage of having a breather on the rear diff?

Stick a fuel filter on it, one for a lawn mower.

It helps prevent pressure build-up which causes seals to blow. It also eliminates the the issue of submerging your axle with a faulty/dirty OEM vent which can allow water into the diff causing even more issues.
